Re: Blender 2.59 AC3D importer - now taking feature requests

Postby gooneybird » Thu Oct 20, 2011 8:46 pm

I've just discovered that 2.5 will open 2.6 files, I did some of the UV mapping for the AI ATR-42 in 2.6 then finished it and exported to .ac in 2.5.

Yep, I got the 2.59 import and export working with some help from a guy looking at some large poly-line based maps, but I've got some bugs with the rotation and translation of child objects that I need to address (I'll look at updating things this weekend)

Should be good to go in a couple of days, so you can use 2.6 goodness for all your modelling needs :D

Well, I've tidied up a few loose ends and then made sure it works in 2.6. I fixed an issue with the user interface reporting and I beleive it should be all working for blender 2.6 now. (It should be backwards compatible with 2.59, but not yet tested on that platform)

First post updated

EDIT: Well, some teething problems, but I'm working on them now!

glad you like - latest mod was to get UV texture co-ords exported as well. Just two issues now - exporting texture images to the same location as the export and during import, getting the system to create object origins

I'll be getting the source into the extensions repository of blender some time today hopefully

Thanks for that - what version are you using? The function that it should be calling is different, so that looks like an old __init__.py file that's calling the import/export routines

Sorry, my mistake - I meant to ask which version of the import/export utility you're using?

That looks like an error of the sort I'd expect to be reported on an old version of __init__.py - this has been updated and should be available for download on the link in the first post

Can you make sure you checkout the master branch (I've merged the reboot branch back into the master) and use that - the reboot branch is no longer there (I may have made a mistake with with deleting that...)
