Well, I'm releasing the model and FDM under the BSD license (shut up, it's compatible with the GPL) and that requires that all redistributions of whatever's released under it mentions the developer(s) so if you keep up your promise of accrediting the developers, I'll allow you to mirror the plane when it's released

I even include author credits right underneath the aircraft model...Even skyop who is fairly touchy about this seems ok with the way I present the aircraft.

Oh gesh, am I that intimidating? :P

Maybe I'm due for an early retirement here, if my presence is becoming negative.

@ skyop

I'm just teasing :P

I definetly want to steer away from the Q-400 debacle.

@quadunit404

It is my pleasure to mention who developped the aircraft. 8)

I have added a copyright notice on the aircraft page which I think should satisfy the licence requirement... 8)

Also, the splash screens I will make will credit the developpers for the design of the aircraft and me, if I created or did a major change to the livery

Seems to me that you have stretched the logos on the CC-177. You will need to modify the Canada on the fuselage, the logo and the flag on the tail.

Actually, I think it's a flaw in the basic paint kit or 3D model...The aircraft is still in development, even Jonbourg's USAF C-17 has the same look :?

Hi All,

I tweaked the web site a bit so it looks cleaner...I removed the links from underneath the images and integrated them with the images so now you just have to click on an image to download the aircraft or livery.

Also, I added this to the aircraft page to make sure credit is given to the developpers for all their hard work.

The aircraft available here are copyrighted by their developpers and are distributed in their integrity. The difference between the original versions and the versions distributed here is that they have been modified so that the FGRun image, the splash screen and the start-up livery have been changed to show a Canadian verson of the aircraft if it has been completed...Please remember that this is a work in progress.

Hey 439Tiger. A first test version of my Avro CF-105 Arrow is now available in my Hangar :

http://helijah.free.fr/flightgear/les-appareils/arrow/appareil.htm

For the moment the FDM is that the Mirage IV, but that should change quickly.

Hi All, Bob Maheu has retired as webmaster for FlightGear Canada. After seeing the notice on the site, I contacted him to let him know that I would be willing to take over. He has formally handed over the reins to me now so I will be the new webmaster. I am in the process of rebuilding the site from scratch and moving it away from google sites. Some objectives I have for the new site:

  1. Comprehensive, easily navigated index to all existing Canadian content, whether it be official aircraft and liveries already uploaded to main FlightGear site, or works in progress hosted on developers site or locall on FlightGear Canada site
  2. Links will be to original website wherever possible to reduce duplication, disk usage, and to provide a visitor to original developers site
  3. I will not repackage aircraft unless absolutely necessary and only with permission of the original developer
  4. I've never integrated a forum with a website before but I would definitely like to be able to host Canadian related discussions here so they don't get lost in the main FlightGear forum
  5. Screenshots page
  6. Wishlists for aircraft, liveries, scenery
  7. Replace current "scenery" page with actual Canadian FlightGear scenery projects so I don't have to worry about clicking on that page at work
  8. Maintain bilingualism as best as possible (using Google Translate and my "milk carton" French  )
New site can be previewed here:http://flightgearcanada.altervista.org

Liveries page is populated with content using an expandable list organized by aircraft type and operator. Just need to add Beaver and Otter liveries that are hosted on the old site and not available on FlightGear liveries page. Will work on aircraft page next.

Domain name has been renewed and will continue to point to the old site until I have the new one up and running in the next month or two.

If you have any comments or a wishlist regarding the design or content of the new site, or any material to contribute, please let me know.

Thanks,

Owen.
