Regarding the addition of new airports/scenery

Hi, all. I'm new to FG, and haven't seen anything in the forums/documentation/etc. about whom I must speak regarding the addition of scenery objects, such as airports, cities, etc. so I thought I'd pose the queries here. I'm not unfamiliar with 3D modeling, since I'm a hobbyist at graphic design of all sorts, and own several 3D modeling programs, though most deal with terrain modeling. that said, I'm wondering if it might be possible to create/submit data for use in FG (I'm sure it IS possible, but I don't know where to start, or what specific software I'll need). Anyway, I'm all ears, and I apologize if I've missed the crucial info, and am posting in the wrong place. :)
