Dual monitors

Postby Warwick » Thu Jul 08, 2021 6:38 am

I have downloaded and installed FG 2020.3.9 and it works very well.
I was wanting to use two monitors one for front view the other left side.
I have followed a 2018 FG forum post, "multi display setup, by Takapa (21 may 2021)" created mypreference.xml copied code to ....doc\ mypreference yet it doesn't work.
Front view fine and flies well left screen shows just the desk top.
running windows 10, shows both monitors, set to extend these displays.
Can someone please tell a 70 year old what he has done wrong !!!
kind regards Warwick

Many thanks to Takapon (multi displays setup post may 21 2021)
I can now fly with both screens working and are adjustable. Really great.
What have I learnt.
I am running win 10 and at first the code had no effect and/or froze the FG programme.
What was the problem???
I had copied the code to "MS word" then paste to "WordPad" and nothing happened
I then tried copy and paste direct to "WordPad" everything froze.
It seems that windows tag the file with a windows xml file name of which the FG code can't handle.
So how to fix???
easy.. copy and paste direct from Takapon's post into "notepad" All works fine.
I changed ... the screen size (width and height) to match my monitors, (screen 0 is looking forward, screen 1 left hand view)
and the heading deg to 110 and the pitch deg to -2
I have my own real aeroplane (Jabiru J160) and was wanting to have the sim to keep my hand and eye in when it is not possible to fly.
It works extremely well
Many thanks Takapon
