fgaddon seems misconfigured

Now that 2020.3.4 has landed in Debian testing this appears when starting the launcher:

When looking at that XML file, this strikes me as a misconfiguration:

Notice the double version n="4" entry. It seems that 2020.4.* overrides 2020.3.* perhaps?

i've reported this to the mailing list...

[edit]

reply from james:
Ooops, that’s a copy-and-paste bug by me, will fix. Although actually, it’s probably time to remove 2020.4 from that list, since it has already diverged.

[edit2]

and the fix is in... now it is up to the mirrors to update and it should be fixed everywhere...

"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Does anyone know what the schedule for this cronjob pushing out updates is? And if still a long time to go, if it can be kicked off manually?

Then at least we know when to verify the results.

AFAIK each mirror operator set up their cron jobs as they see fit... it is their infrastructure and $$$ they are freely donating to/for the cause, after all...

Obviously, that's why I'm asking about their time schedule and options to resolve this CI/CD mistake.

And it it my free time and development skills I put into this, so please hold off with comments like this about cost and investment in FOSS projects.

exactly! your question came across as almost demanding that they do things your way (set their cron up the way you would)... i don't know what each of their update schedules is and don't really care... as long as they are done, i'm good... if i find a system seems to be having problems, i contact their operator or post about it on the mailing list where they hang out...

in the mean time, maybe this link will be of assistance to you? https://scenery2.flightgear.org/#tsstatus

Well, you're probably better informed than me. First of all thanks for bringing it to the attention of the catalog maintainer.
For the rest? Assuming the worst for asking a question and raising your voice is uncalled for.

possibly... i read the mailing list, the forums, and discords several times a day every day... yes, i make an effort to stay up to date on developments...

you're welcome...

FWIW: i didn't raise my voice so not really sure what that's a comment on... what i attempted to do was to correct bad/missing/invalid information...

It's been a over a month, yet looking at http://mirrors.ibiblio.org/flightgear/ftp/Aircraft-trunk/ it shows

Code: Select all
....
Caravelle.zip   2018-Oct-18 08:53:24   13.9M   application/zip
Carreidas.zip   2018-Oct-18 08:53:27   23.8M   application/zip
catalog.xml   2021-Jan-21 07:14:14   915.3K   text/xml
Caudron-G3.zip   2020-Feb-08 15:12:11   3.9M   application/zip
Caudron-G4.zip   2020-Feb-10 11:12:07   4.7M   application/zip

But the catalog content still is
Code: Select all
<PropertyList>
<!--
if we break trunk compat in a substantial way, consider removing these
-->
<version n="2">2020.1.*</version>
<version n="3">2020.2.*</version>
<version n="4">2020.3.*</version>
<version n="4">2020.4.*</version>
<id>org.flightgear.fgaddon.trunk</id>
<license>GPL</license>

Somehow the mirror is not being fed the right data.

i've poked the dev list... it may have slipped through the cracks... we'll find out soon -ish...

[edit]

i've heard back... the fix was done and pushed but synchronization of the mirror failed so it is being poked again to get it going... give it at least 24 hours or so and let's see what happens...
