In order to help you, we need to know a lot of information. Make sure to include answers to at least the following questions in your initial post.

- what OS (Windows Xp/Vista, Mac etc.) are you running?
- what FlightGear version do you use?
- what graphics card do you have?
- does the problem occur with any aircraft, at any airport?
- where did you download your aircraft/scenery from?
- is there any output printed to the console (black window)?
- copy&paste your commandline (tick the "Show commandline box on the last page of FGRun or the "Others" section on the Mac launcher).

Please report any bugs not specific to an aircraft on the issue tracker.
To run FlightGear on old computers with bad OpenGL support, please take a look at this wiki article.

ATC ILS Approach

Hi guys.
New to FlightGear. Coming from a MS Flight Sim background, but haven't really played as of late as it's Windows only. Last night, I dusted off my old joystick and thought I'd download the latest FlightGear onto my Macbook Pro and so far it's great. Runs very smoothly and I got the hang of it relatively quickly.

Just a small question, on MSFS (the later ones) it was possible to be navigated via ATC commands from one destination to another (and especially the last bit to be latched onto the localiser) using the built in ATC.

This morning I setup a route from RKSI to RJBB ( and flew all the way from Seoul to Osaka in a 737-300.. but being too used to MSFS, on the final stretch, interacting with the built in ATC (with SpokenATC addon) turned out to be a bit of a disaster and ended up playing around with the radio a bit too much and completely missed the runway.

Anyone know of some guides or tutorials or can give some more info on how to achieve this in Flight Gear?

I was reading the wiki, but most ATC related guides talk about multiplayer and communicating with actual ATC and not like text based AI/Computer ATC, which I'm sure is built into FlightGear.

Currently there is not really an offline AI ATC available, though work on something like that is in the works as RedGriffin ATC.
