Seattle ATIS cannot be turned off for some reason

Postby elegant_dreams » Fri Apr 26, 2019 5:33 am

Hello flightgear users. While flying from Edmonton to Vancouver radio picked up the Seattle-Tacoma airport ATIS around 250 nm from Vancouver. None of the channels in the radio settings window are tuned to the frequency of 118.0. Switching and changing the numbers of the frequencies does not turn the voice off until I descended to less than 7000 ft it seems. I am wondering if there are anything I missed doing or unless this is a legitimate bug.

Hi!

You may consider to have a look at this topic:
https://forum.flightgear.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=35674
Which is unfortunately not resolved...
btw, I beat your (definetely too high) range of 250nm by far!
It seems as both topics are related because:
- way too high range of and
- not even tuned into station

Anyway, which aircraft?

Ciao,

Adrian

EDIT: Didn't see "250nm from VANCOUVER", I thought "250nm from SEATTLE". How far were you from KSEA at that moment?

I was flying the IDG A330-223F sorry forgot to put that important detail in as I also flew the MD11 and the 737-800 around the area and the ATIS issue did not come up. I don't remember exactly but around the town of Golden, BC ish is when I noticed it (had effect volume way up).
