that was said in another place that supports FG... it is, of course, wrong... the problem looks to be external... has something has happened to FG's DNS entries? for now, i use the following by placing this in the Additional Settings box at the bottom of the Settings tab...

Code: Select all
# for now, force the terrasync server to sourceforge instead of automatic
#--prop:/sim/terrasync/http-server=automatic
--prop:/sim/terrasync/http-server=http://flightgear.sourceforge.net/scenery
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

So what do I do now? Since manual download doesn't give me airport terminals..

have you tried adding the above code block to your Additional Settings area like i said??

FWIW:
dig seems to find terrasync.flightgear.org just fine...

Code: Select all
$ dig -t ANY terrasync.flightgear.org

; <<>> DiG 9.9.5-3ubuntu0.15-Ubuntu <<>> -t ANY terrasync.flightgear.org

it properly points to the five available scenery servers...

FWIW2:
this link might help to explain how terrasync works these days... http://wiki.flightgear.org/TerraSync

Would you mind telling us what you did to fix it?

I was also having the same issue and I just followed wkitty42's instructions above and added "--prop:/sim/terrasync/http-server=http://flightgear.sourceforge.net/scenery" in the Additional Settings tab.

Thanks wkitty42.

now we need to figure out why these DNS requests are not working for others...

the output of
Code: Select all
dig ANY terrasync.flightgear.org
might be helpful... not everyone will have 'dig' on their systems... the output should look something like this
Code: Select all
; <<>> DiG 9.9.5-3ubuntu0.15-Ubuntu <<>> ANY terrasync.flightgear.org
;; global options: +cmd
;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 40486

sourceforge is not working for me anymore.. so stuck with 3 airports since manual download doesn't work either for me.. Might have to start accepting that gaming on OS X is just impossible..

Can you open up a terminal and type in the above "dig" command?
