AI Aircraft spawn on top of me

Sometimes when I start with AI traffic enabled, an AI plane spawns right on top of me. Is there a way to avoid this, other than disable the AI traffic? Is there some property which tells the AI system that this place is taken/there is a plane there?

It is not caused by static models, but AI aircraft that are part of the AI traffic system.

the AI craft should not... it is a bug... AIUI, it is on the todo list...

FWIW: you should also take care that your craft is the proper type to spawn in that parking space... in other words, don't spawn the c172p where airliners belong...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

OK, thanks. I try to park my DC-3 out of way (not in jetways)!, but it seems that the AI planes want to fill every available places.

I also noticed that my plane and the AI plane that appears on top have slightly different headings. Does one spawn using magnetic heading and the other true?

Parked AI aircraft use/inherit the heading of the gate they park at ie read ParkPos heading from groundnet xml

And when I start and select the parking position from the Qt-launcher, does it not refer to the same groundnet.xml file? If so, why are the headings different?

Very good point indeed. Would worth looking at your groundnet content for this parkpos and compare to heading value in properties or hud of your aircraft
