In order to help you, we need to know a lot of information. Make sure to include answers to at least the following questions in your initial post.

- what OS (Windows Xp/Vista, Mac etc.) are you running?
- what FlightGear version do you use?
- what graphics card do you have?
- does the problem occur with any aircraft, at any airport?
- where did you download your aircraft/scenery from?
- is there any output printed to the console (black window)?
- copy&paste your commandline (tick the "Show commandline box on the last page of FGRun or the "Others" section on the Mac launcher).

Please report any bugs not specific to an aircraft on the issue tracker.
To run FlightGear on old computers with bad OpenGL support, please take a look at this wiki article.

Note: If you did not get a reponse, even after 7 days, you may want to check out the FlightGear mailing lists to ask your question there.

Hi,

if you want people to use your launcher, you might want to post some screen shots, and introduce its major features/benefits, especially compared to fgrun or any of the other launchers.

Also, most "addon" software like your's has some dedicated wiki page describing it, you only need to create a new article and add some screen shots. Somewhere in the wiki there's also a list of all frontends, you can add your's to the corresponding category.
Please don't send support requests by PM, instead post your questions on the forum so that all users can contribute and benefit
Thanks & all the best,
Hooray

I have re- started development on FGWALK, now with FGWALK3

Noticed that there are several launchers in development:

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=12331&p=126267&hilit=fgwalk#p126267

None of them seem to fulfil my requirements so far: (FGRU< FGO, Kelpie)

1) Running from a single exe
2) Written in Python
3) Selection of aircraft and airport
4) Display aircraft specs and airport runway lengths and headings
5) Display map of airport and VOR locations
6) Display Info for each airport includig distance and headings to other airports

Will have to look at the other launchers:

As mentioned by Thorsten B: in the above link
According to our Wiki, that's the list of existing FlightGear launcher projects:
* FGrun
* KFreeFlight
* MacFlightGear
* FGTools
* JFlightWizard
* fgkicker
* FGWalk
* FGo!
* FG Flier
I'll happily add FGStartup now.
FGo! and FG Flier were only added last year. Both also have the mission to create a "lightweight" alternative.
I really do not want to compromise your enthusiasm here, but you should be aware of these projects before investing time. What's the exact advantage your launcher will provide, compared to the other launchers were have/had?

Some discussion here on writing a new launcher, actually maybe I will rewrite the old one:

viewtopic.php?f=35&t=37737&p=371539#p371539

I have written my two text based launchers, a little more than 100 line shell scripts, for launching FG, I should complete FGWALK as well, however I have to pay attention to the entire usage cycle - download, install, diagnose, run, modify....configure even.

So, revised list.: (Win32, WINE)

1) The user will only need to download one set of files hosted on Source Forge
2) Installation instructions will be prominently displayed on the download page and in a readme:

a) Installation consists of downloading the file and createing folder called FGWALK in Program Files (x86) and copy the files there

3) Running the program: users will need to click a batch file or an exe.
4) Instructions will be included on how to create a shortcut to the desktop or tray (this is important, as it speeds up launch)
5) Diagnostics will be included
6) Airport list will be automatically read from --show aircraft, airports will be listed in a config file.
7) The software will be tested on specific environments and results included in the README file.

Previous requirements:
1) Running from a single exe
2) Written in Python

3) Selection of aircraft and airport

Version 2

4) Display aircraft specs and airport runway lengths and headings
5) Display map of airport and VOR locations
6) Display Info for each airport including distance and headings to other airports
