Postby aiannuzzi99 » Fri Aug 14, 2015 1:05 am

Can someone make a list of the active VA's not the ones that just started and need people to join, the VA's that are very active  and have a lot of pilots in them.

No Turnit you are wrong. First, that doeesnt give any hint of pilot numbers etc and then second most of them are pretty much dead or dying.

There are basically three active VAS with many people and reasonably active.

That needs updating anyway, I can point out the dead ones. Plus Merlion and Global are dying too.

All of them except for those three. Including ones with only 1/2 pilots. Might actually be best to leave them except for dead links such as northsky and panam.

I dont really count that as a VA. Its more of a pilots union, but it takes credit for the routes flown, not an actual VA. Im not going to add it to the list, but you can.

Global's dead? Rumor. Speculation. Based on? :)

I can report that Global is alive and well. We get flight reports every single day and have so for several years.

Not sure where the idea that we died came from, but it's not correct.

Best to you all

Well, Merlion is dying, they have only had three filed PREIPS this week, starting on Monday. Thats incredibly small for a VA that big. I was told Global was dying by another fourm user a while ago, so don't blame me

No one';s blaming any one. Just need to make sure the facts about Global in the thread are correct.

Don't know who could have passed on that miss-information to you, but I would like to share this bit about active VA's:

There will be those that join, and never fly. They may have intended to, but for one reason or another, they never do. There will be those that join and only fly a few times. Sometimes they come back after much time gone. There will be those that fly all the time, regularly. There will be those that quit because one reason or another, like maybe we couldn't add their favorite plane or route, or they didn't like someone, a personality clash.
There will indeed be quiet times and very active times.
The best we can do as a VA is be open to all. To be available when someone might like to use us.

VA's give a purpose to simulation. A reason to fly. Our job is to be available to people on their schedules, to provide some purpose for the flight someone is doing, and to keep a record of that flight for them.

We try to accommodate pilots and their requests. I often will add airports local to a pilot if they seem to be active often in the airline, as a bit of a thank you. If we can add them as routes to our schedules, I do that. If not, then the airport would be available as a charter airport in the vein of Global's charter rules.

At any rate, any and all of it is always in a good amount of fluctuation from time to time :)

Yea, I get what your saying. I don't have any pilots in my VA, so that stuff wont have happened in mine, but have seen it in others.
