I don't know what browser you use, but even with NoScript in Firefox turned off, the download button is not hidden. :?

If you use Chrome here's a similar program that does the same thing..https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/scriptsafe/oiigbmnaadbkfbmpbfijlflahbdbdgdf?hl=en

Found this neat little archive of WWI era films. In particular the link brings you to a 1916 film about the French air service with M-Farman 11's and early Nieuports in operations. There's a good visual about how the observation camera plates were processed once back on the ground.

BVAO Operations. Oct 10 19:00 UTC

Postby LesterBoffo » Sat Oct 10, 2015 4:08 pm

OK, today's briefing: close ground support and recon over the German outpost on the Hartmannswillerkopf, a fiercely defended watchpost that has been a thorn in the side of the 9th Armee defending the hills directly east of the German disputed zone.

Our mission will have us flying the M-S L camera plane and for escort with a Morane-Saulnier BB with small grenades and defensive gun, should our friends at KEK Habshiem decide to interrupt our over-flight. The meteorological office is reporting widely scattered low clouds over much of the Rhine valley. So we may have to loiter some over the target to get good photographs.

Which I don't have to remind you all, increases our chances of encounters with German patrols, which with their new Fokker monoplanes have been making our operations more risky.

Expect to arrive at the target at 7000 feet and have the BB crew patrol a few kilometersto the south and east to draw off any German patrols. Try to not get too separated, and if you do, break off the reconnoiter and head West to regroup above La Thur valley.

Should be a quick flight, but be careful.

Yes there was a Belfort flight today, after some myriad tech issues, we had a patrol..

There are some weird things going on in the occupied zone..

..also got a couple shots of the target 'mountain', really more of a butte..

Nice visibility at times..

This was much fun. Thanks Lesterboffo and legoboyvdlp!

LesterBoffo your screenshots are so much better than what I saw on the flight. I had clouds about 6800 and had to get down, and tho i followed all of the high terrain in every direction it extends, I never did get a look at what we see in that first screenshot. I need serious scenery update. :)

Thanks again, looking forward to the next one. The planes are great!

Begin Combat Report by:
2nd Lieutenant L. Redpath Croix de Guerre
Sir:
I have to report I have today shot down three enemy aircraft.
I met a strong patrol of seven aircraft on a solitary patrol approximately 40 km east of Corsieux. I was at my cieling in a Sopwith 1 1/2 Stutter I borrowed from a not-too-far away squadron of Roast-Beefs-and-tea-blimey-mates aka RNAS. I got myself into the sun and dived down on them. I got one on the first burst - it burst into flames. I then hit another aircraft's propeller. The aircraft lost control and subsequently crashed. By then the other aircraft were circling to find me. I went at them head on and succeeded in shooting down another aircraft. I then proceeded to spin my aircraft, and doged into some clouds to avoid the hail of bullets. I hedgehopped most of the way home, and my gunner made good shooting on them; damaged one of them. I finally landed at Corsieux.
End Combat Report

Wish i could say this whole experiment was a success, we had a few group flights and it was fun.

The lack of AI interactivity in FG has made this more of a create your own campaign and patrols and it's not always as interactive, or compelling.

Just lost interest, I hope those of you involved had fun.

On top of this I discovered in winter of 2017 that Special Aircraft Services has modded IL-2 Sturmovik '46 to include WWI mods for the 2007 release of IL-2 Sturmovik-'46 and it's just more immersive, and you can create your own activities. Do a Google Search for 'SAS Dark Blue World 1916'.

Here's a couple of videos.
