JAFVA | A multiplayer scene

JAFVA | A multiplayer Scene

Funny story. I had never decided to join a Virtual Airline, but today I am founding what is probably the most unsuccesful VA of Flightgear Story, JAFVA. The acronym stands for Just Another Flightgear Virtual Airline

Where are the Fireworks?

There will not be any. So do not expect webpages, announcements, facebook profiles or alike. We are all about flying and having fun doing it.

How to Join

You basically don't. No joining required.

So what is this all about?

It's simple. JAFVA works as a hire for your flying services. You request a hire, and JAFVA will provide you with a contract for completing a flight. Payment is in hours flown, and this will allow you to progress through the ranks.

Where to Request a Hire?

Filling the REQUEST FLIGHT PLAN form. You need to provide a pilot nickname (ie, IHCOL). Optionally, provide a contact information (like email or a FG forum nickname), and boundaries for the flight requested (such as minimum and maximum duration).

Getting the Contract

Within 48 hours of your request, JAFVA will assign you a flight plan. It will include the following:

  • A callsign you must use to complete the route
  • The Aircraft you must use (YES this may not be your favorite engine!)
  • The Departing Airport and Position (parkpos or --lat --lon --heading coordinates) where you must begin the flight
  • The arriving Airport
  • A detailed flight plan
  • Altitude and speed of cruising

It is up to you to choose when you will complete the flight (date and time). But you should follow the proposed plan with the highest of your abilities and faithfully. Taxiing is required both in departure and arrival!

Getting the paid hours

Use the Flight Submission Form to report your completed flight.
Once the flight is validated, hours will be posted in JAFVA's pilot Rooster, and you could request for additional hires :D

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it? Probably not, because if they don’t recognise their freedoms, they’ll let their freedoms fall

Awesome.
I am sorry you are not a man in luck! For your first flight you had been hired by Jazz Airlines and they actually do not have any ERJ or Boeing in their fleet

Anyways, Captain Lego, find your first contract below:

  • Pilot: Legoboyvdlp
  • Callsign: JZA5346
  • Airline: Jazz Airlines
  • Flight: 5346
  • Aircraft: CRJ9
  • Cruising Altitude: FL330
  • Cruising Speed: 0.80Ma
  • Departing: KATL
  • Arriving: CYYZ
  • Duration: 1h46min
  • Starting Position: --lat=33.6398 --lon=-84.4356 --heading=270
  • Route (RNAV): DAWGS7 SPA BKW AIR JHW BUF LINNG4
  • SID: DAWGS7
  • STAR: LINNG4
  • APP: RNAV only (Not ILS)
  • Date and Time: T.B.D (at pilot's schedule)

That's your assignment. Complete to the best of your abilities. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me,
IHCOL

Not quite.

See these charts:
There you will find how to complete LINNG STARs (depending on RWY in use): PAGEs 7-10
and the RNAv APProach plates with full indications are found in PAGEs: 32-36
Notice that RNAV APP will give you several wayfixes and indicate the altitude and speed you are expected on each fix. Follow each point. At the end, It will leave you on a decision point, at around 2nm off runway abeam, about 1000AGL. At that point you decide whether you are landing into that abeam successfully or whether you transition in the missed approach protocol, also charted.

EDIT:

Note I had updated your contract. It now correctly includes your expected cruising altitude and speed. FL330@0.8Ma

Okay. Oh and Jazz has actually the CRJ-705, not the 9 ;)
Do you mean LINNG1, not 4?

Use any LINNG STAR you find the chart for. In the charts I sent you there is LINNG3, which is more updated than LINNG1, thus preferable.
If you find the LINNG4 chart somewhere that will be ideal.

Having problems with scenery, will see if I can fix it. I know I do have it. Oh, and I can't find either SID/STAR. Or LINNG3.

Something so strange happened. Lost KSFO scenery and much more. Got a bug where it was just UHP1 X(airportname) repeated hundreds of times. IDK whats wrong.

Edit: now working again?!?!?!?!?!?!

Oh, and I think it could be a virus or else laggy airport installed list refresh. And the KSFO bug was where I forgot to remove initial position. Still doesn't explain why no KATL scenery. Could you check your KATL coordinates?

STAR: http://www.airnav.com/depart?http://155 ... 6DAWGS.PDF

About Scenery... I don't know. But you will not need KSFO for this route.

Those are the coordinates in KATL, make sure you using --lat --lon correctly!
Particularly, Lon is negative : -84...

That's more like it. Negative...

Thanks. Do I use the green, red or blue livery?
