phpVMS, or any other php based management system requires php (as the name says), and easy-web-builder hosts like webs.com and Jimdo don't support php. There're still plenty of free hosts (if that's what you're looking for) to host your website but I wouldn't recommend that either. We had our website hosted with a free service 3 years ago and they lost some of their hard disks. They didn't even bother backing our website up and we lost ALL the data (with 100+ pilots). Now, we have a paid hosting service that makes backups for us.

phpvms also requires curl, which many free hosts don't provide. Generally speaking, phpvms doesn't run well on free hosting. I tried it and it was a disaster.. you keep trying to solve issues which aren't really there when you're on a proper hosting provider.

web hosting is very cheap nowadays, and with all the work you put in on your VA you should spend a few pennies for a domain name and a proper hosting provider. Otherwise you will not be taken seriously as a VA :)

Ahh, that's not true. A vaCentral Connection requires curl, not phpVMS itself. :)

And why not? You spend lots of time to make a VA but don't want to spend a few bucks on proper hosting and a proper domain name?
Even if you are in a phase of your life where time seems more abundant than money, a few bucks go a long way.

Both me and omega are experienced VA owners, so I suggest you listen to those who learned the hard way ;)

Then maybe something else was missing, but several features on my VA didnt work properly until I upgraded to paid hosting. I think we have talked about this aspect last year some time.
If you look at the phpvms forums you will also read at many places that free hosting is the cause of problems. Personally I don't agree with the way phpvms requires paid hosting, it should be programmed in such a way that it does not require features normally associated with paid hosting. But it's the way it is.

In the end I wished I had skipped the whole free hosting business: it was such a waste of time. Now I pay 30 or 40 euro per year (I think) for hosting and I have great support and everything works.

Its difficult to satrt a VA today because the moste pilots are not interested in a VA and other pilots are in the big VAs. It's not worth it to spend money for a website with 2 or 3 active Pilots. And I founded these airlines only because I want find a german airline
