GLOBAL Virtual Airlines Takes to the Air

GLOBAL AIR Virtual Airlines has arrived. After the devastation on January 13, 2013 of the former Atlas Virtual Airlines website from a hack, GLOBAL AIR very quickly established itself. Literally with hours of the Atlas site going down, administrators were busy uploading schedules, re-establishing airport and fleet files, and accepting registrations from former Atlas pilots. Seven flights were flown that day, and GLOBAL continues to grow and attract new people.

Based in Frankfurt, GLOBAL has hubs in New York, Los Angeles, and St. Maartin International in the Caribbean. Future hubs are planned in Asia, Australia and South Africa. We have an extensive schedule of over four hundred and sixty routes, from Hawaii, across Canada and the continental United states, spanning the Atlantic and covering Europe with stops in Morocco and Egypt. Our fleet consists of turbo-props to the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with everyone's favourite aircraft in between. We even have a fully refurbished Boeing 737-300 with a wonderfully functioning new autopilot designed and maintained in-house.

GLOBAL's operating philosophy remains the same: easy to join, no hold-backs from aircraft because of rank or flying experience, fly as many hours as you like, for as long as you like; our rules are deliberately kept to a minimum. There is little emphasis on examinations, though they are available to those who wish to expand their knowledge and become qualified in certain areas of GLOBALVA aviation. GLOBAL believes flight simulation should be fun, and we emphasize this by hosting our own IRC channel on the flightgear.org net where pilots and administrators mingle and chat, answer questions and help one another along. We have two qualified Air Traffic Controllers who regularly host training sessions, so you learn how to do thing right, and to feel comfortable when eventually venturing into the world of virtual air traffic simulation (VATSIM.)

At GOBAL, we offer simplicity, direction, choice and challenge. Why not come and check us out? Follow the link at http://www.globalvirtualair.com/index.php/

Hi Trennor. Just one tip, FlightGear' name doesn't appear on the web page, but it should be. ;)

Thanks

GLOBAL Virtual Airlines Takes to the Air

Postby Trennor_ » Sat Sep 21, 2013 9:43 pm

It's been a long time since our last update with Global Virtual Airlines, but at this time I'd like to announce a few advancements we've made since forming over six months ago. Global now has downloadable, proprietary Global ACARS routine which will automatically report most of your flight to our central reporting system. We are also set up with a similar system for X-Plane, routines are both downloadable from our website. Our proprietary Boeing 737-300 has undergone many improvements as e-pilot continues to work on this old relic, and it has become an affectionate favourite with our pilots as many flights are flown with it. We have also added the Boeing 787 to our fleet and recently approved the ATR-72-500 for new routes being posted now. John Williams has overhauled the 747-800i with a new autopilot and improved performance, making this plane an even greater pleasure to fly.

GLOBAL SOUTH AMERICA AND THE PACIFIC NOW OPEN

Global Virtual Airlines takes great pleasure in announcing the advent of our Pacific Rim, South African and South American expansion. These routes will open up new flying vistas for Global Pilots across our entire fleet, and pilots are urged to make the most of them. Join us as we Grow Global again.

Joining Global is easy: venture to our website, sign in, select a flight, and fly! We have regularly scheduled flights, and charters too. Coming soon . . . our Bush Pilots' Division. Stay tuned!

Global's site was down earlier this week due to some hosting issues. The site has since been migrated to another hosting service, and should now be properly functioning. As with anything on on the 'net, things don't always work as we would wish. However, we now have everything back up and running, and pilots may post flights as usual. Thanks for flying Global! If you haven't yet, come join us and fly!

Go to the Pilot Centre > Downloads > Global Virtual ACARS System. Open that file that downloaded. In a new window, Right click on the Flightier application and select Show Packaged Contents. Then go Contents > Resources > Data > Nasal. Drag the gva_acars_dialog.xml and the Zgva_acars.nas into that nasal file. Open flightier and you should see the ACARS menu under file. You should read the help file.

Hi Turbo, unfortunatley it looks like the site has been pulled altogether, as one of only a few active admins im still waiting for any information from the owner but not holding my breath on that.
