KC-135 3D Cockpit request.

Postby mdsmith » Wed Apr 15, 2009 2:18 pm

Hello, I am wondering if anyone would be up to the challenge of modeling a 3D cockpit for the KC-135? I am not very good at modeling but I could try to help out some.

Just out of curiosity, how different is a KC-135 cockpit from a Boeing 707?

I thought they were pretty much the same aircraft.

That depends on the version of aircraft. Some of them look very same, and some have lcd screens.

I think the kc-135 cockpit is almost same as 707 one. Nobody has modeled it before, am i right? I could try to model that if i have time but i can't promise very good systems :)

Making even a simple cockpit can take weeks for most people.

If anyone will pick up making a cockpit and/or systems this will most probably be helpful: T.O. 1C-135(E)C-1 EC 135C Flight Manual at Avialogs.com.

There is a detailed description of the cockpit there as well as the boom operator station. Hint, hint, wink, wink.

Note that the EC-135C is a KC-135A tanker with extra equipment (like e.g. an APU), as it in addition to being a tanker also can serve as a command post.

The KC-135 cockpit is quite a bit different than the 707 cockpit since there is no engineer's station. Also, there will be a navigator's station on the older models.
