3d models for accessories

Postby gkick » Sun May 07, 2017 1:45 pm

Hi, I am looking for a model of a fire extinguisher like the 777 has and a model of a small oxygen bottle. Do any of the FG aircrafts have one as a standalone object. The 777 one sits in some sort of object library with hardcoded location in the ac file. Is it possible to extract just one object into a separate ac file and use the corresponding png with a new xml file?

You can ungroup is in AC3D, in the Hierarchy Menu. Then with that object selected, do File --> Save Selection and save it in the same directory as the main AC file. That way, the UVmap is preserved. Then, edit the AC file with Notepad++ or something, and you will see: texture "something.png". Copy that png to the new folder when you transfer the AC file.

Kind Regards,

IIRC the C172P has a fire extinguisher... i don't know how big it is, though... you could look at that one, too...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
