I'm currently at the stage where I need to generate the UV map for my DC-8 model and making the default livery for it. I'm having some trouble getting the map laid out in the way I see many other models show up when I load them into Blender.
If I select a group of vertices, then UV map them using view projection (looking at the left side of the plane for instance), the vertices show up on the UV image I'm trying to map to. But, as soon as I deselect those vertices in the 3d window, they disappear from the UV image window. They are still mapped there as they show up when I select any of those same vertices in the 3d window. With them invisible I can't lay out the rest of the vertices I want to map in an efficient manner as I can't see where the previous mappings are laid out on the image.
In addition, if I just assume the mapping is in place and I select the next group of vertices to map and UV map them to the image, the original mapping goes away.. So it appears that only a single set of vertices can be mapped to an image.
I know I'm missing something, but I've been prodding blender for days and can't seem to get it to behave for me.
Any thoughts?
