Hallo!

[...]you cannot start making liveries yet, until the remodelling and reuvmapping is complete.[...]

Short question: Is it complete?
Because I would have one or two request(s).

No, it is not yet complete. It is now in the uvmapping stage, so should not be too much longer

I'd like to make a request for the Aegean Airlines A320-232 main livery, not the Star Alliance one. For the record, there are two versions, one standard and one with sharklets. Both are acceptable. It would be great if you could find some time to design them.

Kind regards,
George

As a new 3D model is in progress we are not doing liveries right now since they'd have to be redone when the new model comes ;)

It's in the final stages and will be well worth the wait!

Hallo! :D

I just downloaded GIMP, played around and made a simple livery for the LEAP A320neo.
As base I used the "a320.sharklets.paintkit"-file from the paintkit folder.

I added a horizontal band around the lower part of the fuselage.
In FG, when looking at the front of the plane, on one side the stripe is positioned exactly 1 pixel lower than on the other side.
On the middle of the roof there is a little some kind of 2 dimensional ridge visible, although i didn't paint the upper section of the plane.

Am I doing something wrong or is the paintkit a little inaccurate?
Is there somewhere a more precise kit, maybe with higher resolution? And are the other paintkits (PurePower, CFM56, IAE) more accurate?

CU.
Thx in advance.

Hello.
Be advised that the whole 3D is being redesigned (as the current is not very good). It is in the final stages of UVMapping and such.

So pls wait until then, and a new paintkits will be released on my website.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Is the 3D model redesign already complete? If yes, where can I update it?

Thanks,
Max

No, it's not yet ready.
The texturing is well under way, I believe the gear and fuselage are done as well as the valleys, it's just the details. That's just from memory, I need to check.
We will publish a set of standards shortly as well.

Standards for A32X liveries:

1. All liveries shall be as far possible exactly like the real aircraft, particularly in terms of logos and colours.
2. All liveries created must have historically been used on the A32X. No fictional liveries will be accepted.
3. The correct engine and options must be used for each livery. Sharklets must only be used if the real aircraft has them. The cockpit variant (once implemented - EIS1/EIS2) must be correct.
4. We will only have one example of each individual livery of an airline - e.g. United Battleship, United, and Star Alliance are fine but not two Battleship.
5. Each livery must be created in 4K (4096 * 4096) resolution.
6. Each livery must match exactly at UV map boundaries - e.g. at the tail and nose where it splits left / right.
7. The description must be in this format: ICAO Airline Name (Extra Info)
8. Liveries must be approved by IDG Team Member before being added. Please have patience!

We need some rules for Frontier Airlines since technically no two are the same though you can break them down into a few types (green engines, black engines, flyfrontier.com, and whatever you could call the current one). My suggestion is whatever one the team feels looks the best for each type.

In such case - and for instance such as jetBlue and Norwegian only one from each type would be accepted considering the only difference in most cases would be tail logos.

Please also note that we will be supporting "livery packs" that can be installed and place in a specific place separate from the aircraft. You can put whatever you like there.

Could you please make sure that there is a bottom section for the liveries? It's quiet common now to write stuff on the bottom of the fuselage (SWISS, airberlin, etc.). That would be great!

Once the redesign is complete are the new liveryes going to be added into a32X menu in flightgear?
