Livery scaledown

Does anyone know how to scaledown the livery? I want to do this for the MD-11 ,cause right now it kills the FPS. Tikibar told me that it's possible to do it,but i don't know how.

just resize the image. That scales it down.

So if the resolution is 1024x...something ,I just need to scale that down to let's say 800x something,right? Or somehow else?

Yep, but just make sure that that the sides are n^2 pixels (..., 64, 128, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, ...). If they are not, FlightGear will rescale them before loading them, if I recall correctly.
