This is Air China's first 747-8 soon to fly for the airline. I'll be doing some tweaking before going to the database,,,,,

I just made an SVG paintkit from the XCF paintkit for the 707. I get confused about the versions of the 707 that are out there -- I'm using the one from latest Git.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/283 ... intkit.svg

It's got a "common" paint layer, then layers for PAX and cargo so you can make cargo and PAX liveries for the same airline in one file. For exporting the PAX, hide the layout, cargo paint and cargo fittings. For the cargo, hide the layout, PAX paint and PAX fittings. Obviously you'd need to export separate .png for cargo and PAX and create two .xml files. Some cargo planes have the windows in, in which case, don't hide the PAX fittings (which is basically the windows).

Export at 2048x2048 rather than the 1024x1024 used on the existing liveries.

I haven't done anything with it yet other than a quick test, but planning a British Caledonian and British Airways (rather than BOAC) for the 707.

I think that's the one in the latest Git. Whether there are any updates in his private repository that aren't in the official Flightgear source, I don't know.

Is there a paintkit for the 707-320 that's out there ? The CAAC 707 was a 3JC model aircraft and there was no -400 model of that type....

My 260th post :-) !

Hi E-Savageair,
I am putting together an official release of the 747-8 for FG. With your permission (and if it's GPL) I'd like to include your Air China livery in the package.
Cheers,
John
