I didn't know the aircraft, but I went from the color and found it on google immediately... :-)

As creative as the US Navy was with their liveries I assumed they'd already done this one, but I can't find a photo on google. Looks like an N-SCOT original.

@ Gooney / Helijah

Can you PM me a link once you have a new mapping for this? I have several livs in the pipe, and I'll be modifying those as appropriate. Gooney, can you let me know what livs you're going to do, so I won't be duplicating? Obviously I will reciprocate.

Cheers,

Things have been a bit slow lately, to many family dramas cropping up, but I've got the Blender 2.70 problems out of the way, I hope, and the wings are practically finished with just the fuselage to sort out then fill in all the details.

Liveries I've got lined up are Blue Angels, an orange drone and all these:

What format do you work in Gary? I use Inkscape but can do you an xcf if you prefer that.

This is a small problem with the main gear retraction system that needs fixing but that looks like it's just minus instead of a plus, or vice versa, in one of the door animations.

An XCF works for me, thanks. (Sorry for late reply, just back from family vacation).
Definitely a tasty model. :)

Ok that's no problem I've been tied up with other things this last week but have managed to grab an hour or two now and then.
Had to remap the rudder as It just wasn't working for me, there's no change to the fuselage mapping though.

What size xcf do you want? I know helijah prefers 1024x1024 but I can let you have any size you want.

I hope you're not in a hurry for It, there's still a lot of detail to be researched and added so It won't be ready any time soon.

Hi gooneybird,

I do not prefer 1024x1024. I just think this is the best compromise between size and quality. It is obvious that 2048x2048, or even 4096x4096 are better. :)

Now the visual advantage of 2048x2048 is not obvious from a distance. For cons, the model can be 4096x4096 and only then it is possible (just before to save) to make the 1024x1024 by default. The details are always easier to make in high resolution.

Ok I will do it in 4096x4096, the final texture can easily be down sized later If required.

Progress will be a little slow for a while, my mother in law died a couple of days ago so we are having to deal with the consequences of that.

I'm having problems getting a decent AO layer out of Blender so It looks like I'm going to have to do it the hard way, Here's the current state of play:
