New 747-400 liveries

Postby sanhozay » Sat Feb 15, 2014 10:00 pm

I think am getting the hang of these liveries now and have submitted four new ones for the 747-400 (including the Virgin Atlantic you've already seen):

Northwest

Virgin (as discussed in another thread and with some improvements)

I like that, look forward to seeing that in action. :)

We need a cargo version - knock the windows out and remove the passenger payload, then we can do the freight liveries like UPS.

Nice work guys!

A -400F would require some more changes than that though. It has a smaller upper deck (like the classics), side loading door, nose door... It'd be nice to add those options one day, but the pax version still needs a lot of work ;-)

Cheers,
Gijs

Understood. Certainly, given the choice, I'd prefer an even better 747-400 than another variant.

Been working on a couple more ...

JAL
Image

Atlas
Image

JAL is almost done but I've run into a problem with the tail fin in the Atlas. See the little triangle? I didn't put that there - it looks like a glitch in the way the texture is mapped over the model. A little section of the image is duplicated near the front of the tail fin. I'm guessing that is not easy to fix?

On a similar note, there appears to be a problem around the cargo door area. Liveries that have designs that cross it end up messed up. Is that the same sort of issue?

The mapping on the cargo door ended up too small; it's been addressed and Gijs knows about it as well as perhaps the tail fin and will fix it when there's a chance, but for now the flightdeck is the main priority.

BTW: nice work - looking forward to downloading them....

I'm remodeling parts of the aircraft, so I'll take care to correct the mapping. Thanks for doing the liveries!

Oh, I so like the Delta one ... I have a very old and kind of emotional connection to them ;-)
