Hi!

Please let us know which exact repository (link) you downloaded the 747-8 from and also what exactly didn't work i.e. did the livery dialog not show up? Did the dialog show up but did nothing happen when you selected a livery? Did FG crash when selecting a livery? ...

Kind Regards

I went immediately to the livery selection menu, there were no liveries. FG did not crash.

you still didn't tell us exactly which repository you got it from... so far all we know is that it was some github repo...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

FGMEMBERS aircraft can typically be considered outdated and not maintained (e.g. the last commit to https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/747-8i was three years ago). You can get well maintained aircraft from FGAddon (downloadable through the launcher) or, in some cases, newer, in-development aircraft from the authors' repositories, e.g. https://github.com/tdammers/747-8i, though development repositories might not be stable and thus might not work or crash.

Umm this is outdated, do you have a much newer aircraft?

what makes you think it is outdated? just because of its age or last commit date? seems to me that it is newer than the FGM one with problems that you are trying to use... keep in mind that the craft development may be on hold by this developer due to IRL situations... sometimes school, work, and family must come first... think about it, eh? ;)

Just to chime in here as the guy who has been maintaining the FGAddon version of the 747-8: the tdammers version has a couple of modernizations to the autopilot beyond what is available in FGAddon. I haven't checked it out (I will when I get a chance, and push them to FGAddon), but even so the FGAddon version should be stable and working just fine. I try to keep it stable in FGAddon, though I haven't been particularly active in any part of FG since my kid was born.
