[solved] starting from terminal: --aircraft option

Postby Ysop » Wed May 27, 2020 7:41 pm

For the process of debugging I try to run FGFS from the command line to see where the bug in the aircraft specific file is.

Of course command line options are in http://wiki.flightgear.org/Command_line_options.

I cannot get it to run with the desired aircraft. The name to be used should be in the -set.xml. In which line the aircraft name should be found?

Just trying out any combinations of like fgfs --aircraft=C172 , B707, whatever of the installed aircraft. It is always "The requested file ("aircraft name") could not be found in any of the search paths."
Also trying to use anything from the -set.xml, but no luck.

Any help?

The mentioned wiki article is rather old and definitely not up do date. For a full list run
Code: Select all
fgfs --help --verbose

The --aircraft option requires the name of the aircraft's set file without the trailing -set.xml part. in case of the C172 that'd be c172p-set.xml
Code: Select all
fgfs --aircraft=c172p

Edit: and yes, it is case-sensitive!
