Problem Installing Scenery

Postby sambatchelar » Mon Feb 18, 2019 7:47 pm

Hello,

I have a problem trying to install a specific scenery tile, the tile is w010n50 (the UK one). The problem seems to only apply to this one tile, seen as I have installed other tiles such as some more in Europe and some in America. I am installing scenery using the Flight Gear launcher. In the add ons section I click on install add on scenery and follow the instructions. However when I try and install the UK tile then I get the error message:

Problems occurred extracting the archive '/Users/sambatchelar/Downloads/UK scenery tile/w010n50.zip': unarchiving failed

I was thinking is there a way I could manually install the scenery? Or perhaps try something else other than using the built in method to install scenery.

Thanks.

You could use TerraMaster?

@sambatchelar,

That method expects tar.gz files. Zip files are not supported.

Manual Method:
Unzip the files to your preferred location.
Add-ons > Additional scenery folders > add
Select the folder which you placed the unzipped files.

Sure I have heard of it but I haven't used it yet. Do you know anything about using it on a mac?

You should be able to use it on a Mac if you install Java.
