macstarting problem.

macstarting problem.

Hi,hope someone can help. on mac osx 10.7.5 lion.all fine until we get to navigation data loading then freezes up. Is there a fix for this? Am not programmer but can cope with reasonable tasks .Ta.

Hi and Welcome to the FlightGear forum! 
We need more information to be of useful help.
In particular the last 20-50 lines of the error log would be a good start. You should find it in the directory that contains FlightGear's user settings. For details see the FlightGear wiki article $FG_HOME (perm).
As FlightGear freezes while reading in navigation data it might just be that building the navigation data cache is taking longer the first time FlightGear starts as it build it from the scenery you have installed. If FlightGear freezes for more than 5-10 minutes it most likely is something else though.

Does it actually freeze? I ask because that part of the set up can take a long time while FG appears to be doing nothing.
I suggest you go for a cuppa and return a few minutes later to see if it's finished. This long operation should only happen the first time you start a new FG version, as long as you don't want to run a different version of FG before you start this version again.
