The start at gate option is not working

Postby Captainkool » Sat Dec 03, 2016 2:41 pm

I have been a flightgear player for awhile, I haven't updated the game or messed up the code. Every Time I'm on the start page, I click start at gate. The information at the top says that I will be starting at a gate. When I get into the game, its usually night time so I get the lights on. The plane is set on the runway.
Thanks!

Hello CaptainKool,

please read the red box on top of this page:
- what OS (Windows Xp/Vista, Mac etc.) are you running?
- what FlightGear version do you use?

and: how do you start FG : wizzard/fgrun or the new integrated launcher ?

what you describe is a known bug for some version(s) of FG. I think it is fixed in the latest version.

the launcher "ffgo" has a workaround for that bug.

use the forum search or the wiki to find out more.

yup, v3.4 had that problem as did several of the 2016 versions... it was finally worked out with 2016.3.1 IIRC... if not that one, it is certainly fixed in 2016.4.1 which was just released...

if one is using a custom terrasync directory and not the default one, there is an additional step needed for flightgear to read the parking places from the custom terrasync directory... that extra step being to add the custom terrasync directory to the list of scenery directories...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
