status of terrasync

Need help getting up and running? Installing FlightGear, add-on planes, sceneries etc.

status of terrasync

Hello,
i am wondering what the current status of the terrasync module of FG is.
I read, that some terrasync related servers will be offline by the end of 2015.
And as of the last few days i did not see FG download scenery data of germany at all (i made a fresh installation with KDE-LM 17 these days).

So how can i check if the terrasync update is running correctly?

i can download the data manually from http://ns334561.ip-5-196-65.eu:8888/tru ... ry/Terrain or with a standalone subversion client under windows it is working fine.
As a newbie to linux i find it a bit difficult to do the same steps in linux kdesvn as i do them in tortoise svn client on windows.

Hallo Wolfgang,

Welcome to the FlightGear forum! If you are using one of the latest versions of FlightGear, TerraSync will just work, once you turn it on. The offline story was Google code shutting down, and old FlightGear versions that used the Google code server to download scenery will no longer be able to automatically download it (but you can always manually download the full scenery).

Should all the airports included in this map load when Terrasync is enabled?

so i should only watch if the terrasync folder gets filled with the same data as if i would download manually...

You could also use TerraMaster 1.4 for scenery, I do and I have about 40 Gb of scenery on my hard drive (also TerraMaster 1.4 updates as and when needed by itself)

Yes (keep in mind that the map refers only to 3D buildings, not to 2D layouts).

Ok, well then yesterday it didn't work for me. Several airports never seem update for me. Like, ever. KMIA for example never ever loads. And the other day LGFA didn't load either.

LSGG used to load for sure. Now I guess either Terrasync has erased what was there earlier, or something is wrong, because I see no buildings anything. No OSM either. It used to be beautiful

2016.3.1.

Very frustrating...

i'm seeing plenty of buildings at LSGG... i don't understand why you are having so many problems with your scenery stuffs :(

Yeah, I don't understand it either.

It worked for a very long time, I got 2016.3.1, and now it's blank.

If there's one area where FG could use some improvement it's how it integrates / sets up scenery, from a user perspective.
