Sure.

Long as he stop to disturb my flight, I have no complaints.

@Lolification

Hello, sorry for the late answer, have been a bit busy :D

Can someone help me out?

Yes, i will try.

First thing first
flightgear-radio.autosoft.fr

The address is going to be obsolete in a short time. Despite still in function, use "radio-mumble.flightgear.fr"

"Is it a new server ? a new person ? a new ....
- No!
This is the ** very same ** server with a brand new address that fit better its use.

Is it specially for the french community ?
- No.
It is 100% open world wide.
We use it with FGExtend, a free software that map automatically frequency selected in the plane radio and the proper ATC service.
But it may be used without.

********

Now, coming to your problem :

it showed me that I was connected

What was your connections parameters ?
Port ? should be : 64738
Username ? "Lolification" or something else ?
Password ? not used and should stay empty. Did you used one ?

for some time

How long ?
Seconds or half-an-hour ~ish ?

and then disconnected me for some reason

When was it ?
Let me know.
I can have a look in the logs now and spot what is gone wrong.

But for sure, nothing should prevent you to connect to the mumble.

Why must it be a new name??
After working hard for many years - we finally could convince pilots to use it now more and more. Changing the name will again start with all negative feelings and misunderstandings for pilots! Not to speak of the poor ATCs that must convince those pilots why that had to be changed! Chang should only be needed - if it is of some improvements that cannot be handled within the application itself.

I would appreciate if we rethink about a technically NOT needed name-change!

Hello J.,

I does make me feel good to see there is more people taking care about mumble.
Thank you.

Why must it be a new name??

Actually there is a mandatory and strong reason to this.

Despite the final decision about mumble belong to Icare38 only, mumble is the
result of a collective work that count with the investment of valuable people.
And despite all the odd and even, do not let yourself allow to feel outside this
group of valuable.

Anyhow, in the present case, the change was dictated by a fact from outside :

-- flightgear-radio.autosoft.fr is going to stop to be available --

There are there behind some professional reasons that are not at all related to Flightgear and totally out of hand.

So, it was not :
- "...changing or not changing, that is the question..."
but :
- "...which other domain ... after all the work we have done... "

The luck was around the corner, flightgear.fr was available and Icare38 did not have wasted time to grab it.
Anyhow, flighgear.fr is way more logical than autosoft.fr.

Then "radio-mumble" as server name was coming by itself.

This is to answer to the "why this change".

About the technical solution to maintain flightgear-radio.autosoft.fr usable :

It is currenlty already implemented.
This is why when the remaining user still using "flightgear-radio.autosoft.fr" are currently already transparently "landing" on flightgear-radio.autosoft.fr.

But this "transparent redirection" is going soon, (3-6 monthes) flightgear-radio.autosoft.fr to stop to be possible.

@Jomo,

Changing the name will again start with all negative feelings and misunderstandings for pilots! Not to speak of the poor ATCs that must convince those pilots why that had to be changed!

The most part, (i would say more than 80%) of users that I have received and/or talked to, have already done this changing with no bad feeling.

Actually I had several feed back of virtual pilots fancying more the new name than the the previous one.

Every mumble user connecting have a welcome message that specify this changing already from a time ago.
A few pilots came to me asking, after implementing the change by them self, to confirm that everything was working still fine.
(i can not imagine why technically it would be any problem, since they was ...talking to me)

So, again, thank you for your caring concern. May we continue to count on your fellow help ?
Do you think it would be possible to update the information in your Openradar and in your session announcement in Lenny website (http://flightgear-atc.alwaysdata.net/) ?

Of course if you, or any of your users, face any difficulties, please feel free to come to me even on the mumble, i would be pleased to help.
