Virtual Breitling DC-3 Would Tour

Several month ago I bought a ITALERI DC-3 plastic model kit which shows a Breitling texture. When I was making the model I learned Breitling DC-3 Would Tour from the March to the September and moved by this extraordinary world tour. They made this vintage aircraft flying such far and maintain it flyable! Here is the event website http://www.flydc3.net/en/. And Breitling also has a website for this event https://www.breitling.com/en/airtime/breitling-dc-3/. For more photo and video you can check https://www.facebook.com/BreitlingDC3WorldTour/.

After they finished, I reassemble all flight legs and preparing for fly it in Flightgear, and here it is: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Breitling_DC-3_World_Tour

So far, I am flying every leg for testing, good news is every airport of this event is 'alive' in flightgear, but there are bugs for some airport, terminal glitch, or radio error. I also found some navfix missing, some VOR missing,

And it is a big challenge than the real one, the DC-3 in FGAddon has no DME ! However I 'stole' a radio stack from DHC-6, and place a DME receiver on the overpanel (at least it's works). I am still working on improve the aircraft for some modeling and giving more ALS effect.

Help a lot is needed!

Finally Happy flight for all !

P.S. The DC-3 plastic model kit is finished too.

This looks like a really great trip to simulate. I particularly like that it offers you the opportunity to realistically fly an old aircraft in a modern environment.

You mention on the wiki page having to refuel in "mid-air" because the FG DC-3 has insufficient range. Presumably this is a bug in the model, rather than because you're not running Lean Of Peak?

Good luck with the flying!

Hi Stuart,

The DC-3 in FG could fly at least 800nm without refuel, I fled from WBKK to RPLI about 780nm and 15ft aloft headwind, still 10% fuel extra after landing at RPLI. I ran it using Lean of Peak definitely. I think it is not a bug, just as the real one.

In real Breitling DC-3 would tour, they remove some cabin seats replacing with a bladder tank to take extra fuel so that they could flew RJCB to PASY which is 1373nm far across the Pacific. I do believe this would be the only leg which should refuel 'mid-air' for FG DC-3.
