WOW !! Neuschwanstein i was there last month! And looks impressive from low/near altitude too! Congrats and submit to TS! (remember the Marienbrücke (now in renovation works) and the smaller castle next to the lake) great to have there too!

A new airport ground layout is also in progress with the only problem that you have to watch white borders at the airport boundaries if you want to use it...

Although my "home airport" is Augsburg (EDMA), which - for Americans and Australians ;) - is practically at the same spot, I've never been to Kempten, neither in reality nor in FG. So it was my first landing there. I landed from the south, but it would probably be a good idea to remove the building at the northern end of runway 17/35 because it makes the runway almost unusable in this direction. There is a building in reality (I wonder who granted the building permit), but it is much flatter.

Sadly, I didn't see Neuschwanstein, but I suppose it isn't uploaded yet. The same is probably the case with the building textures.

I've post-processed the osm2city scenery a bit to make the building in front of the runway smaller and to remove double-hangars.
For those wanting to use the new airport layout:
-Download it from: https://www.dropbox.com/s/po3cnt2ze9c8t ... tg.gz?dl=0
-Go to your scenery (terrasync) folder
-In e010n40/e010n47/ mv EDMK.btg.gz to EDMK.btg.gz2
-Paste the downloaded file as EDMK.btg.gz
-Disable terrasync when starting fg (Otherwise will overwrite EDMK.btg.gz!!!)
For the moment I couldn't find a better alternative to this procedure yet, does anybody know?

Nice airport layout D-ECHO! I'll try making the hangar for Christoph 17:

I may also make the helipad for it which is towed by a forklift in reallife. I also have seen the helipad has a turnable disc that makes it possible to let the helicopter (in this case a EC135) take-off and land with the nose in the wind direction, could be animated also I think.

Thank you, I'll try it immediately. I assume it is the same download location as yesterday (https://github.com/D-ECHO/Kempten-osm2city).

Now I have textures! :)

But the building is still to high for a good looking (and good feeling) landing. As far as I can judge it from the Google Maps picture, it should be just like the red building to the north of it, perhaps even a little bit lower. I even found a picture: http://www.zak-kempten.de/wertstoffhof-durach.html. But please don't model the recycling bins! ;)

I might be there. And if so, if I may, I'll bring this airplane: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=30055 The Pipistrel Virus SW which is still in development.

@ATC(it0uchpods):
The only more or less good charts I could found are available here: http://www.hebels.org/flights/20120813-1/map.htm (please note, in germany we have the problem that you have to pay (very much) for the official charts, so they are not available on the internet).
Another note: The ATC at Kempten is an INFO station which informs pilots about the weather, traffic etc. but does NOT give clearances :D

And the pilot briefing:
-The airport's elevation is with 2340 ft very high and the runway is non-paved (grass), so prepare for lower engine power and a longer start distance.
-The airport is close to some noise-sensitive towns, so please follow the ATC guidances and/or the procedures presented here:
(hebels.org)

-More charts and information (the only I could find): http://www.hebels.org/flights/20120813-1/map.htm
-Overflights of towns should generally be avoided
-Listen carefully to the INFO ATC
-Have fun!
