Steal The Strip

FGUK FlightNight

Saturday 5th March 2016

http://www.fgukmedia.co.uk/index.php/fo ... -the-strip

For this FlightNight we will simulate the capture EGOD Llanbedr Airport.

This will be an aircraft specific flight.

There will be three separate staring locations for the flight.

Each group will have to arrive at specific times in order to take the airfield.

The simulation will take 1 hour to complete with two attempts.

There is the possibility to fail the mission by being to early or late.

90% pass is needed to take the airfield.

EGOV RAF Valley Airport
X2 CH-47 HC3 Troop Transport or Lynx Wildcats or pumas or Merlin's
X1 AH-64 Apache Gun Ship

EGWU RAF Northolt
X1 C-17 Globemarster III Vehicle Transport
X1 Hawker Siddeley Nimrod ELINT
X1 Eurofighter Typhoon Fighter Escort

EGYM RAF Marham
X2 Tornado GR4a Ground Attack

I will take the Nimrod to coronate the flight or the C-17 if pilot numbers are low.
The CH47, C-17 and Tornados are priority aircraft for the flight.
If pilot numbers are high enough the AH-64, Nimrod and Typhoon can come.

Mission Plan

First Contact
Ground attack aircraft will do a low level bombing to take out radar, hangers and any AA.
The Runways must stay intact.

Second Contact
The CH-47s will arrive shortly after and split with one dropping troops north and the other south of EGOD.
If the AH-64 is there it will give supporting fire and fly with the CH-47s.

Third Contact
After the airfield is taken the C-17 will need to land quickly and unload the vehicles needed to help secure the airfield.
At this point the Tornados and Typhoon can from up and patrol the airspace.

That is one complicated op plan to coordinate. Gutsy.

Time for some mission planning for your pilots I guess. ;)

16min to EGCW - 6min to EGOD 500GS
