Despite the radio silence on this forum, this event is still happening; quite a bit of discussion has been happening elsewhere. Current controlled areas/airports are:

[removed because it was causing drama or something.]

If you want to ATC, you can either post on the other forums or in this thread and I can relay the message.

Also, OPRF will be conducting operations in and around the Shetland Islands.

I suggest editing the first post instead of adding others.

First post got updated.

It doesn't mark this thread as unread tho, so new posts are important.

so just make a new one saying the original has been updated... that's what we do on the support forums i moderate ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

I can't edit the first post, or I would, as I am not the OP. As it is, the best way to communicate the new information is by making a new post with the info in it. I've edited my post to remove the redundant info. Can we return the discussion to the festival rather than whether or not I should've edited the first post which wasn't even an option?

PINTO,

You could also just start a new thread with almost the same name where you can update the first post continuously, and just link to that new thread from here. I'm sure people would be fine with it. Perhaps ask the mods to lock this one to avoid confusion.

@PINTO: I have already updated the first post (however, as you noted, this does not mark the thread as unread).

I'll summarize the thread on Jabberwocky's forum in the evening (apologies for not doing it sooner - in the last months, I had to work on a project which took me about 10/12 hours a day, thus I had little to no free time).

I have updated the first post with a link to the official charts.

Airport progress:
EGAA was worked on and is complete; EGLL is done (there are, however, some inaccuracies); EGKK/EGPH are being worked on by legoboyvdlp.
Maverick is working on EGUL, EGUN, EGVA.
Catalanoic is working on EGBB.
Oscar is working on EGCC.

FGUK event:
FGUK are going to hold an event on the 5th - NOTAMs will be issued so that Festival pilots can keep their area of operation clear.

Operation Red Flag event:
The Operation Red Flag team will also be active during the Festival - they are going to operate at EGQL/EGQS and further north. Civilian pilots are advised to keep those areas clear; military pilots are encouraged to join, as long as they are willing to use the OPRF aircraft and are open to being shot down.
Aircraft with the callsign "OPFORxx" will ignore ATC (similarly, ATCs are advised to ignore them as well), but it shouldn't be a problem as their area of operation will be outside the Festival-controlled airspace.

Should EGPF load with terrasync on, or is that a separate download? I see no building or anything there. I think I may have to delete all FG data and software and reinstall, including all scenery. It's such a great simulator but I hate this terrasync / scenery nonsense sooooooo much...

@Lydiot: Catalanoic said that he has submitted his work to TerraSync, so it should be there. Could you please attach a copy of your fgfs.log (if the TS download fails, there should be an entry there)? I'll also try downloading the area after midnight.

@LAX789: Of course!

To all ATCs and pilots: please make sure to register your ATC session/flight plan on Lenny's website. This will:
  • allow pilots to find manned airports, and
  • allow controllers to get flight plans directly from the server without the need to type them in manually
(I'm registering my sessions as I type).
