a bit of debriefing :)
adding my mumble messing up the sound, the difficulty to understand spoken english, and the need to use the fg tchat because of late hours, it was a bit challenging, but fun :D

- it's the first time i can really have a try with the mp patch, (apart from some try alone with recorded planes), and it's a part we have to put a little time, imho the best way to set the "correct" lag correction time is using a 3rd pilot view: if 2 planes are in close flight, a 3rd pilot need to tell the two planes respective positions, so that they adjust the lag correction to cope with the 3rd pilot view, a good exemple is to use a tanker and the distance to the refuel cone. In fact you have to adjust the lag correction so as to be in the position the others see you (tell me if i'm not too clear here, explaining this in english is not my forte)

- I really need a way to turn the head in the cockpit, the hat is not very usefull, mouse is a no go. i don't know how you guys fly (same view all the time ?) but i plan to use the brake pédals to do this, when not on ground.

- imho, the first trainings are to be mostly close formation without breaks, we need to find what's possible, how to have a good lag setting, and be at ease with the plane and the way it accelerate and brake, keep the breaks for the end of the training :)

that's it for now, time to read again a bit of the pdf to do formation flights :)

Good debriefing jano! The following are some shots of today's formation flight with Yesrev! We took of from KNPA at dusk and when we finally intercepted the ILS to land it was already pitch black. Nevertheless we still made it safely back to the ground.
Enjoy the pictures :D

I take it that with Jano's patch formation flying is whole new experience. :)

Oh. Are you talking about the lag setting? I have used that. I had a big problem refueling until I used that. I would have to fly into the back of the tanker to get fuel. That didn't work very well ;)

What? You guys a re using a patch and not flying by stick?

lol, would it be fun then?
i't's a lot more interesting to do all in manual mode, and sometimes we go as far as trying to use the mp chat while formation flying, and trust me, that's the biggest challenge !

About a patch to follow an other plane using autopilot, that's something allready present in fg, but a bit hidden in the properties. Last times i tried it, the result was a bit lacking, and i don't know if that was improved after.
