The choice of Rio has been made thanks to the beautiful scenery contributions by Muller!

Thanks

Thanks to you!
I am very happy of the talent you bring to FG.
(definitely have to get more time to fly the many places you have recently populated on terrasync)

Have you had a chance of testing KXTA, I am creating?

Do you have any contact with the FGBR? I will be happy to see "my" latinoamerican community join the First Festival in our land
If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it? Probably not, because if they don’t recognise their freedoms, they’ll let their freedoms fall

Would that be SBGL or SBRJ?

That will be SBGL (Rio de Janeiro) and some other airports surrounding the area.
I am looking forward to see Omega's Post where he will be clarifying the area he will be servicing and his schedule (times)
The Festival is a 48h event, starting on SAT 00Z and ending SUN 2359Z (In principle), so activity can be planned around the clock.

Hi IAHM-COL,
Sorry but has some confusing thing is SBGR (Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo or SBGL(Galeao - Airport Tom Jobim, Rio de Janeiro)?

EDIT
it seems that there was a correction here viewtopic.php?f=10&t=24534&start=75#p241041

Groundnet available for SBGL

@ALL

A groundnet with parking position for Rio de Janeiro's Galeão International Airport (SBGL) is now available in the Festival Github repository (elgaton's master)
https://github.com/ElGaton/festival-flightgear-may-2015

You can download the groundnet here:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ElGat ... undnet.xml

Looking forward to the event, consider installing this groundnet in order to avoid the need to launch on active runways.
Best,

IH-COL

Positions Available

A total of 90 parking positions are available in the groundnet provided. This follow the details suggested in the charts seen in page 22 and 23 here
http://fsim.com.br/ceaero/ope/sbgl.pdf, and use the same naming conventions.

For cargo apron: Positions CA51 - CA515
For Terminal (Ramp): Positions Ramp1 - Ramp54L

Thanks Muller
That was my mistake.

Omega and I discussed briefly to offer either Sao Paolo SBGR: The busiest airpor in Brazil, and prob. One of the busiest of SouthAmerica, or Rio's SBGL

We decided over Rio to be a better option for this event, since it has very nice models in Terrasync, again, thanks to your work.

Best,
IH-COL

Hi IAHM-COL,
I understand, yours are correct in relation to the airport in Sao Paulo-SBGR (Guarulhos) is the busiest, but the SBGL (Galeao- Airport Tom Jobim) in Rio de Janeiro has a better visual, mountains, sea, bay. And another reason is because it is located very near the airport SBRJ (Santos Dumont).
Thank you
Best Regards

I propose a contest for the Brazil FoF segment. See who can fly SantosDumont's 14 Biz the longest distance without wrecking.

I have no defined idea, I was just suggesting this, and thought I'd show up with it as an incentive. Probably at one of the smaller airfields nearby, and try to fly it as far as possible. Contestants have to post screenshots of the takeoff and crash-site with a GPS from the menu of the miles traveled.

Just tried to land in SBSP. It seems to have serious scenery problems. Notice the framerate.
