I was already on the taxiway to 25C at L-north *nearby* V220. Between junction L3 and N1. This is NOT a road for cars. The road is left of this.

No matter if that was the arranged taxiway or I should have driven on L (not L-north) to claim that a road is simply wrong and leaves me confused. Incidentally, I am forbidding this snotty sound. Everyone makes mistakes.

Sorry, I have absolutely no idea what your problem is!

I guess most visitors on EDDF do know the taxi instruction: "taxi to 25C via N N3 L L1" when starting on the northern part of EDDF. You yourself state you "should drive on L (not L-north)". (By the way: "taxi" vs. "drive" - the rules and importance between "taxi/plane vs. drive/Auto" are quit important! )

Anyhow: I cannot see any problem on the side of the ATC:
- ATC: You are not on "L"! "L" is right of you - pls watch it next time
- You: I am on "L" - check your maps
- ATC: Turn right next crossing, then left on L to L1 for 25C - you should be noticing that you then are on the correct "L"!

You continued to insist you are on the right way - no idea why. Is there any reason why you insisted then and today that the ATC did do wrong? If you cannot accept an ATC telling you when you are on a wrong taxiway - you should avoid coming to EDDF when I am the controller!

Sorry for being a little late in responding: I was rather busy in working as clerk during the selections last weekend.

ok everything is fine! I was on a taxi, not on a road, the taxiway itself was wrong.

And thanks for election service! An important task for democracy.

Just flew around the suspect area with the UFO. Indeed there are two Limas at one point, including the Lima north but they are both marked only as 'L', so confusion is quite possible. The road is indeed to the north of Lima north. Nonetheless the Lima that you should have been on is the most southerly one. It's all a bit cramped in around that area. Whatever it is, just stick to the Lima closest to the runway. But I was there on Mumble to hear it all happen, and well, I have to say it wasn't pleasant. It really wasn't the worst mistake in the world. I've probably annoyed you at some occasion in the past more than this. I know that's it like 'I've got crap to deal with, get out of my way', but you do have to balance that with, not sure how to word it, a slightly more open view to what people are saying, I guess. Nonetheless, I'm always very grateful for your service at EDDF. Flying with others is great!

Thanks for your comment. Just to avoid future problems: Can you pls. define (based on my map https://www.emmerich-j.de/GND-tot.png which I always propose to all visitors and is shown in FED.EX note) where that point is where two taxiways are marked "L" (only "L" - no suffix). Otherwise there are lots of them with all L1--- L21 + L-north.

As I see the L-north is marked as L-north. My point was: it wasn´t a road for cars but another taxiway. It was the wrong taxi, thats true but it was not a road for cars. Anyway I do not want to discuss my wrong navigation anymore. It was confusing at the moment i was told to be on the road for cars.

So, L-North is marked as L-North...if you are travelling on that taxiway eastward only (at least from my observations). Confusion might arise if you are heading towards the direction of the runways. There are only signs for L. However, the L-North signage is also confusing. It is unclear whether L-North refers to the roadway or what appears to be a taxiway but might not actually be a taxiway, it might be a taxiway boundary (the yellow line is thicker than the true Lima taxiway). Either way my brain hurts now!

It's also worth pointing out that without the transition shader setting being higher than two/three(?) taxiways don't form properly, which means that you might run into even more problems about where you are going and where things are/intersect on such a complex airport layout...

Yes, that is difficult. One of the reasons why I provided https://www.emmerich-j.de/GND-tot.png - which I believe right now is the most trusty!

If now the brain hurts even more:
* Call up the MPmap (e.g. http://mpmap02.flightgear.org/v3/?ll=50 ... uminimized)
* switch (on top left) from "map" to "Satellite" - view and zoom in onto that questionable area!
Thus you see the true airport from the air - compare that to your diagrams - may be that helps a little!

And be aware that right now FGFS-pilots use 3 different versions scenery:
* the very old with only 3 runways (that definitely should not be used any more!)
* the latest standard FGFS version with 4 runways
* the https://github.com/FGMEMBERS-TERRAGIT/terraGIT. That is the most detailed and newest (as seen in my movies http://www.emmerich-j.de/EDDF/Films/films.html)

Sorry: But I see no way to fix all used versions to be as clear as the GIT-version.
(And of course my https://www.emmerich-j.de/GND-tot.png! )

Sorry that I was away that suddenly for a long time!
But first my PC broke down completely and then I was ill too. In the meantime the new PC is working - so today was a first test. Everything runs fine - only that stupid operator filmed the wrong screen! !!
I hope on Friday EVERYTHING works fine again.
and I hope seeing you all

I am using "vokoscreen" on Ubuntu - that records as well film as sound - for charge-free! I am very satisfied!

Jomo : thank You.
I'm playing with OBS Studio, on Ubuntu 18.04 can use hardware encoder on new nVidia cards, probably Intel HD too. But this feature is lost on Ubuntu 18.10 and above :(

For ALL that want to see their models while landing/start/taxi at EDDF, please tell your MP-settings to allow others to see you, by:
pls check: FGFS-menu-bar-> Multiplayer Settings -> Compatability: "Visible to all"

That same is true if during any other event you want others to see you !

Notice that will break various aircraft (including the c172p - although I don't think you see many of them!)

Didn't ORCAM get updated to see aircraft with multiplayer V2?

I myself love to fly the c172p (see e.g. http://emmerich-j.de/FGFS/Alp-flying.pdf) and I get lots of c172p-visitors at EDDF - I never experienced any problems! Please try again and define what problems you mean.

legoboyvdlp wrote in Fri Jul 05, 2019 11:18 pm:Didn't ORCAM get updated to see aircraft with multiplayer V2?

Let me try to explain: With Multiplayer (MP) (independent of what level) you have 3 options:
1 MP not enabled --> That means you will not be visible to the outside - neither on MP-maps - nor for others locally.
2 MP/RADAR Target --> You activate MP by defining in the FGFS - Menu-Line --> Multiplayer --> Multiplayer Settings: Define the wanted server and and your UID. Thus your TARGET-data like GPS-position + model-ID + altitude + speed may bee seen by everybody using MP.
    3) The model --> In that same "Multiplayer Settings" activate "Compatibility --> Visible to all". That will increase the transmitted date via MP by lots and lots (e.g. Livery, Gear in/out, angle of attack, showing a roll-over for a missed landing, etc.). Actually it then sends all the needed "internal Properties" to present the actual (outside) look of the model (see FGFS - Debug - Browse Internal Properties)!
BTW: To visualize that mix of data and model you must have those models installed locally that fit those "Internal Properties" being transmitted! e.g. I right now have 182 models installed locally - and constantly have to add more! And of course I also have to watch for upgrades of those models).
I hope that helps to understand the problems between pilots (with any Model) and the poor ATC that tries to film those -- and of course also helps during events when you want to see the newest and best and ... models of your friends!

That means: For normal flying by yourself the "2 TARGET-view" is good enough (and saves a lot of load for the MP-servers)!
The "3 Model-view" you may need for events where you proudly want to preset your fantastic models -- or like me who wants to show the quality of landing/takeoff/etc to visitors in a film. (see http://www.emmerich-j.de/EDDF/Films/films.html).

Please tell me if you do not agree.
