flyxc take the kml files from fgtracker, , using gpsbabel for the kml=>igc conversion doesn't keep the timestamps, so it's a no go and I didn't find other way ...
-edit- i managed to do it, i need to discard the track from the kml file and convert the waypoints to a track, and a bit of edition to remove 2 faulty points at the end of the igc file, and add the pilot's name :
Code: Select all
gpsbabel -i kml -f fgtracker_7626109.kml -x nuketypes,tracks -x transform,trk=wpt -o igc -F test2.igc

-edit-

i'll post my igc file somewhere :) the 4 pilots with the names
the 4 igc files

Thanks a lot jano. I completely missed the kml download button in fgtracker. This is getting better every day with your tips. I like the igc format and your offline tracking tip very much. For analytics I'm testing GPXSee, Viking and others at the moment.

Nice flight :)

It seems things changed a lot since OLC days (although OLC server is still online).

Yes, ASK21. The only problem I have with the ASK21 on 2020.4 next is that the winch is not working so I had to place the glider at 2900 feet altitude and added 30 seconds to compensate. But I have to say it took me many flights to get this perfect one.

Huh? the winch is working here...
Maybe we should have standardized whinch settings. I disengaged at 2600ft (about 100m difference).

But nonetheless an impressive time.

Thanks. And good to know the winch is working for you.

EDIT: @benih. I checked the kml file of your flight. When you disconnected the winch at 2600 ft your speed was about 100 kts resulting in a max alt of over 3000 ft as the speed dropped to 60 kts. That means my estimate of 2900 ft at 60 kts was about right.

Ah, good to know :)
Then I think I must spend some more glider time :)

You're very welcome ;)
Someone has to break the hour barrier.

Someone has to break the hour barrier.

like this ?
this time i took a bit of time with the ufo to explore the terrain before, and have a look at the ridge lift value along the path. i choose the path needing the minimal height to cross the montain, seems that's the same path as the runway :) but it's a less pleasant experience than trying to find a path to join a gps point at the landing airport, in an unknown montain :)

i was in the yellow speed arc nearly all the final glide, so don't know if this make this flight valid :P

it's a good exemple of following the ridge in lifting air, rather than circling to gain height and transit to next lift.
for the story where i do paragliding, we have some mountain arcs allowing to fly kilometers without a turn, staying in the lift zone ...
the igc file

Updated new record time from jano in first post: 00:51:53.

This is amazing jano. You didn't break the barrier, you destroyed it ;)
I think the secret was in your descent after passing Gotthard. This did turn out perfect IMHO.

There's no rules regarding top speed, so all valid.

Can you share where those mountains are you mentioned?

we have some nice ridges in the french alps, around 'st hilaire du touvet'here's a flight with flightgear durring the covid crisis, i didn't fly all the parts irl, mainly the southest part :) it's an other leage , switching from paraglider to a glider :D
i think the wind was set to 300, 15kt maybe 20kt ...
