At 475011N0114156E, short north of the lake Tegernsee, there is a small airfield (EP07 / Warngau [which is misspelled as "Wamgau" in fgfs]) where w once had a short field landing challenge.

Sorry for the too late information.

I have an idea planned for a future event with float planes once we have completed our onward from LOWI adventures, it's about time we got our feet wet again.

Just a reminder for our event group and anyone wanting to join in. For events coming up we just ask that the 'organiser'/'originator' (who can be (and should be) anybody) post a few details in the Event thread here viewtopic.php?f=10&t=39213
Ideally a week before the event so that others can read ahead of time and plan to join. Just copy and paste the format from a previous event to make this quick and at the most basic level include starting airport or coordinates and UTC meet time. If you are well organised go ahead and include any pre-requisite info/links to charts for our preparation. You get bonus points for any short descriptive scenario to get us all in the mood too :D
And, a big thank you to all our contributors :)

Chris, beautiful screenshots. Thank you.

Near the end we discussed future ideas. One was LOWI->LIPB, and then, next week, LIPB->LSZS, with the added twist of doing it in c172p (some patience and engine care in climbs needed) ;)

Preliminary routes:

and:

(longer route)

@Volador

Whoosh, please can you cut and paste your suggested event into the Event Thread so that anyone wanting to join this evening has the details easily to hand viewtopic.php?f=10&t=39213&start=105#p410776

That other Forum/Thread is not for "debate preparing flights" correct ?

It was seeming to me we wanted there only what was already ready to be looked as "usable"

Missing mistaking something ?

Thanks Woosh!
Yes, the idea is to discuss here, so the other thread stays clean and it is always the last post with all information for the trip, so folks can spot it easily.

Openflightmap is definitely great! So far the main benefit of skyvektor was the route editor, but certainly we can move away from it (or combine with better maps for non-US).
Of course in Germany there is www.dfs.de, but there are not enroute VFR charts (or I have not found them.)

VFR charts 1:500k as downloadable from openairmap could be used to add manually the routs. This needs probably need to be shared by invitation only among the participants of the flights, depending on the licence.

For some modern realism we can also use enroute viewtopic.php?f=85&t=37478&p=392973&hilit=enroute+app#p392973.

I am just planning a flight at night, but have the impression, that people will be lost in the dark..... could be a bit of a survival flight.

Not yet, if we have no better ideas, I'll post our 'glacier sightseeing' as discussed last week.

Thank you for posting the event Mariusz, it's nice to see a different sort of challenge. It sounds simple but the execution will not be. I wonder if we'll see the return of some 'das ist nicht gut' moments, we've all been doing rather well recently...

Sure, you are welcome.
Tuesdays are semi-regular and are more focused on learning phraseology and procedures, while Wednesdays are more casual in nature.
Glacier sightseeing turned to be less of a challenge than we anticipated, as we opted to use upgraded engine option in C172p.
Or, should I say, that the biggest challenge was to keep the windscreen defogged and defrosted. The hints displayed were quite counter-intuitive, at least to me :-)

Last thing, we keep this thread clean and use it for announcements only. Discussion is in the other thread, so I'll self-report to the Moderators my post and also yours and ask for them to be moved.

So I think by choosing the upgraded engine we made it a less of a challenge than anticipated ;)
Nice screenshots, thanks Chris.

To me the biggest challenge was to keep the windshield defrosted/defogged. Very counter-intuitive messages :)
Oh, and I honestly have no idea what happened during landing, buf FG didn't like it either and promptly crashed.
