Hello Ysop/Volador

to help Marcus to easily setup the PTT in mumble

should take less than 5 minutes (video and try included)

I tried your route Whoosh, are there any stops we can add along the way? That would give us opportunity to practice landing in sequence and the calls we should be making to the group.

And, I'd like to change my suggested route to: https://skyvector.com/?ll=45.4399725881 ... 53E%20LFLG

@Ysop

no worries, no drama, at the most, it was/is just pre-emptive boldness,
but please be assured of my kindest regards.

@Volador
On the Muenich EDDM-Insbrueck LOWI route there only one possible field:
- Oberpfaffenofen EDMO, about 24 Nmi after Departure
- but all the rest then is North Tyrolean Alps and Pre-alps... what that means no more airfield until LOWI.

There is however an interesting alternative, after Kruen, fly south to Mittenwald, follow south the River "Isar" and the Train line tu Sharnitz, the SW the Insbrueck Strasse to Seefeld and we are over Insbrueck by the NW.

The flight will be reduced to about 35 min ( @ 115 kts ) and could allow us the return to Muenchen in eine stunde 1 hour...

But this is only a suggestion in order to answer the query for new route.
I am happy with the Volador route...

Hello guys

i am going to prepare for the fun, our fun, an hand written nav log like those we do in RL when IT is failing.

No worries, It is easy and quick to do. ;-)

2 Perks,
1. the GA Wednesdays groups will have the same "good" information the preceding group had available.

2. this give time to times, that region is computer graphical intensive. Many times we had "FG tiles" that was refusing to load or display, no matter what parameters, no matter is DDS was in use or not, no matter what was the LOD politic.
It could be a good idea to have a test pre flight, if any one interested...

I for one would be happy to help test, Whoosh but there may be more experienced members who could test/assess technical details more quickly? For me, all I would ask is that we are all planning weeks in advance because I'm not able to test/read/plan anything with only a few days notice.

Did you want someone to help you test something Whoosh? Can you post it here in the thread (or have I misunderstood?)

@Volador

sorry for the inaccuracy, my bad, amending and emending.

In the EDDM-LOWI, sometime, some FG scenario tiles seem to not load in timely fashion manner, leaving the VFR pilot without a clue...

This was happening at the south of the lake "Starnberger See" and just south of little town "Kruene" (Krün) .
(In german ü = ue // On my keyb mutiple layouts (I have to write in 6 languages) the "¨" sometime do not work - I have to go "fish it" )

So if you find "no graphical problems" please report your used LOD values.

---

The VRP chain is

1. Take off EDDM
heading SW about 3500 ft AMSL

2. fly at the right of the Olympia Turm (Muenich)

3. Should have a big lake straight forward - the "Starnberger See"
- NOTE : do not mistake with a smaller lake West the "Starnberger See" ("Ammer See")
Follow the lake to the south end

4. Spot, far away in the south, like a gap, a notch in the mountains - fly to - approx heading 180 - climb 4500 AMSL

5. Overfly a small lake the "Kochel See"
Then after a small mountain crest a second one,
the "Walchen See"

6. Over the "Walchen See", turn to SW - follow pilots right shore - exit lake SW
Follow a water string "Obernachkanal" and the road "11" to small town "Kruen" (Krün)

7. small town Kruen - overfly - South - follow the same strings to small town "Mittenwald"

8. small town "Mittenwald" - follow SOUTH - river ISAR and road "Insbrueck Strasse" - to next small town "Scharnitz" - no more SOUTH !!! mountain obstacle !!! →→→ fly WEST

9. follow string "road "Insbrueck strasse" and river "Giessenbach" - Heading SW to next small town "Seefeld"
note : on german maps "the double "S" "ss" might be like "ß"

10. over small town "Seefeld" - turn full SOUTH - big mountain flank - your have Insbrueck in close sight at your 10 o'clock
NOTE : if thermals active, beware to winds turbulence over the edge.

The hand made Navlog will be in the next days...

Thanks for putting all this effort into this!

Planning by skyvector is fine, but at least outside the US the maps are not the best for visual orientation.

Where can I find VFR maps for Northern France? There is still a navigation challenge for this area.
