Great event, thanks everyone!

Sorry for not being not really a participant yesterday, but I had to deal with a harmless, but annoying real life issue. Back with the usual enthusiasm presumably next week.

@all

a quick p.o.s. about the procedures documentation in preparation,

- Translated about 3/4 of the docs used at ORLY Workshop for Pilots..
- Added a few new informations.
- Shrunk down become briefings

Then I will have to webify it.

Just to respect the waiting feelings of whom heard my promise.

Nice airplane, nice flying, Eagle :-)

Sounds great, Wosh!
From my side no reason to rush. I am still in recovery mode and might not show up.

Next visit by Marcus was planned on the 8th.
Maybe workshop after that date?

Would you guys feel ready for an hour ~ish of Raw Adrenaline ?

A few years ago I had the idea to prepare a "fun - challenge" that would
- help the newcomers to "discover" the planes controls
and/or
- provides to the more advanced one to get more "in touch" with "the beast under to hood" ...

- Flying low
- Flying in group
- Avoiding obstacles
- doing a "clock" at 300 feet over the water
- Bush landing to refuel

is already crazy like that

Do it in the Italian and Ostrich Tyrol,
With insane "walls" both side
and join Sondrio (LILO) to Insbruck (LOWI)...

what can I say ...

perhaps in the words of one of the pilots, Daveed:
(before the flight)
- ... guys I do not know, my fun is big planes, ...
(after the flight)
- ... ahaaarhhh ! I have cramps in my hands ! I could not release the joystick even for a second ! It has been ... wow !

Some other pilots less "ready" to mown the daisies and kiss the Edelweiss (flower that grow only in the Alps) will fly at more than 4000 ft AGL and loose most of the fun.

The "parcour" is landmarked by "RED BULL" like cones.
But here, they are used is different, actually, way simpler.
GREEN = keep them on STARBORD (right)
RED = keep them on PORT (left)
...like the NAV light of your plane

2 RED = turn left
3 RED = turn left tight
4 RED = ...you will see

---

The whole "parcour" is actually split in several stages.

This allow to fly light and refuel often.

But this allow also to reuse the acquired experience at next stage.
- 1st get at ease close the ground
- 2nd learn to spot the cones way in advance
- 3rd learn to decelerate to avoid to be bounced off in left and right turns (close the ground)
- 4th learn to maintain the plane steady to gain speed before to climb
- 5th learn to evaluate the space you will have to possibly have to U-turn in a "defilé" (tidy space in between mountain walls)
- 6th keep an eye on a safe land where you can in emergency bush land
- 7th land in mountain strip - gauge well the slope - use it at your advantage - stop the plane in "horizontal position
- 8th take off short - use the slope
- 9th Have a flirt with the VaNEssa Vne - speed to never exceed
- 10th watch out - the damn cones are getting tight !
- 11th over the lake - turn the plane on its flanc - use the rudder as an aileron - do 3/4 of a clock - exit the figure - bush land to refuel and have a drink !
- 12th ...
...
- at Bolzano use the same "flanc turn" as a pendulum - overfly the side of RWY to south - then beak the course - bank "slow barrel" left - line up RWY - do a "touch and go"
- come back land and rest a bit

That is half of the parcour. The rest is all about turns, crabs, manage speed, slalom.

Here is an "easy bet" :
- when you arrive at LOWI, your plane will have no more secret to you!

Image

I am still writing the whole documentation in order to offer it to the FG community as a training playground.

It will be most part on the wiki ( except an interactive part that do not fit the in wiki)

but ...
adrenaline guaranteed !

Image

So, if you want to do something "different" ...

here are a few more pix just for the tease (sorry for the quality - the pixs' are not ready ready ...)

pick up your Named Stand
Image

set weather to have this lovely day
Image

pick up preferably a plane powerful like the beaver - and let speak the castor steam !
Image

...

Image

at LOWI you will "Dom" your plane - but your nerves ... it may be a different story :

Image

This took me more than 7 months to place the cones, try the parcour and the dynamic, do corrections and start again.

If you are tempted ...
the special scenario can be downloaded from here:
https://www.moohw.com/Events/GA-WEDNESDAYS-LILO-LOWI-Adrenaline/LILO-LOWI-ADRENALINE.7z

As already said, this is **not** a "finished work.
I am happy to share it with you as is now, just for the fun,

but I would feel happy if you wait the "final version" before to share it with others ... further.

Thank you in advance.

Woosh

I live in Lausanne (LSGL) but my favourite strip is Sion (LSGS). This looks really great stuff, I should have time to go over there Saturday morning, a STOL will be required I'm sure, maybe a dhc-6?
Grew up with Dr Who then discovered Monty Python and Middle Earth. The world was never the same.

Hello Rooman,

Yes, I have tested the DHC6 on the Parcour, it definitely does the job.

However, his "li'l brother" the DHC-2 will give more thrust / speed / and possibly fun.
Beware to displace the CG backward. and be ready to have to "pump" in order to recreate pressure in the fuel circuit. ...

If the twin otter is your favourite, yes, please, have a go!
