You're allowed to fill just once with a limited amount of fuel and you attempt to go as far as safely possible on that smidgen of petrol. Flying a big pane while refilling from a airborne tanker is not a Texaco Event.
If we're going to do a Texaco event there should be standards. The plane can only be filled once, while on he ground with ignition off. And it should be economical but draggy enough that you can't fudge the sim with thermals and sneakily refilling fuel in flight. Gerard Robin's Stampe is perfect for this event
It looks like, you have a very different event in mind. The idea was that I am doing racetrack patterns in a KC135, while you guys came in with E-3 Sentry or other capable aircraft to get topped up. Anything else would burst our 2h-timeframe.
Of course we can do a fuel economy event, which would be needed to set up in a different way.
Or a "on time, on fuel"-challenge to hone our flight-planning and execution skills.
Volador: Great, that you are onboard again! Backups have their purpose. No idea, if your xbox controller is sufficient... worth a try and it gives you an excuse!
edit: typos.
If we modify a car and the C172 we can try to beat the 64days endurance record.
