Hi there friends of the Wednesday,

I'm still happy that it all worked out, that my DC-3 kept humming, that the software kept computing without crashing, that the mumble radio kept transmitting waves through the aether, and that I was able to stick to our little airlift caravan group up until we were parked at EDDF.

With you guys it's also fun to learn things which I didn't really bother about in past offline flights, like sharing airspace in an organised way and learning the handling of new and interesting airplane models on the fly and in the action.

Tiny aspect that is not yet working all right: the snapshots FG produced when hitting F3 are strangely cut and scaled. It seems always only the left screen half got captured and stretched. Would you know of ways to get this right in the future? Is a setup with virtual desktops problematic?

Allow me to share the relatively best picture cuts anyway.

Looking forward to fly with you again on one of the Wednesdays to come.
Sincerely,
MIKA

Still between Berlin and Braunschweig.

After having turned south and some minutes of warp speed, getting closer to Frankfurt.

Making more snapshots and .... a minute later I will be almost missing the highway exit for Frankfurt.

This is my usual setup with six virtual desktops under Kubuntu. Maybe this creates difficulties for FG to handle when taking snapshots? Are there some snapshot settings one can play with?

A few pics from last weeks event - I had other commitments but did manage to grab these as you all got back to EDDF...

I managed to watch on the mobile for a couple of minutes and the prize for the most coordinated approach goes to Mariusz, smooth and steady with planned turns and descents, any ATC on duty would have been proud of you :D

(on phraseology)

TLDR; "Do you think it is enough?" - Yes, thank you!

I found one more description, short and concise, from a person with a name which should sound familiar :)

Either way you will be welcome!

How to join us is hopefully clear in the posting, otherwise do not hesitate to ask here.

Coming late is also fine, as real life has some priority at times.

Alright! I'll see how I feel on the day. If I fly, I will show up in a C172, so there would be no need to download anything special. I'll see you all then.

So this is going to be my first event Im planning on attending. Should I be worried about phraseology? Also is there anything I should know that I won't get from the event post?

Do you have a copy of THHGTTG? Look at the cover and follow instructions. Also don't forget your towel :-)

More seriously: do not worry, the group is friendly and events are mostly informal. We try to learn something along the way, while having fun. Some events are designed around learning something in particular while other are plain flying exploring interesting scenery or testing planes' features. Just Wednesday evening fun.

I'm in, this event is scheduled for when? UTC? Last time last year when I flown with y'all, I recalled it was like 12:00 PST?

So would it bother you if I showed up flying Helijah's L-19? I've grown fond of this old crate, and I like tail draggers.

Well count me in! I’ll be showing up in a DHC-6
