I won't be able to join before 19:40 - can you fly very slow so I can catch up ?

I enjoyed this trip very much, and it made my head very light - maybe because of the inverted flight parts inbetween ?

Punktlandung (spot landing for all non-german speakers) which broke my gears … "Das ist nicht gut" - I landed just 20 centimeters in front of benih (don't ask me how I did that though) :

Image

Again, this time at the position where I really wanted it - in an exact half-circle with you !

And we had the nicest sunset I've ever seen in Flightgear … :D

Nice route, nice company, and an impressive dam, although quite occupied ;)

I wonder how it would look with a surface texture used for concrete runways.. Is there an easy way to check?

 Yeah, that's the downside of depending on OSM data … :(

The landclasses come from OSM … (Maybe from CORINE, but I don't think there is coverage for Turkey available). For the dam, you are right.

As the year 2021 is coming to an end I wonder if this is an opportunity to start a 2022 Wednesday Evening GA discussion thread? We're at 117 pages (on my system) going back to April 2021 and there have been observations it can take time to wade through to keep track of the next event. Firstly do people agree? Secondly is it possible for Admins to freeze a thread and direct to a new thread. Thirdly, (and I am guilty of this too) if we are stating a new thread we should make our best effort not to go off topic as our digressions and subsequent solutions are buried in 100 pages rather than being in their respective topics to help other users? What do people think? :D

new Delta posted. See you on Wednesday!

Good thoughts, Volador!
Staying on-topic is always great, but one of the charms of this thread is, that it is possible to ask "smaller" questions, for which you would not necessarily open a new topic.

For example: Benih, do you keep track of the mumble1.4 development status? Would be fun to use FGcom.

But the information thread should find its way into the newletter, as it contains an excellent collection of 1-1.5 hour flights.

it should be easy enough to handle this topic the same way the SOTM topics are handled...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Good morning!

I wonder if this is an opportunity to start a 2022 Wednesday Evening GA discussion thread? We're at 117 pages (on my system) going back to April 2021 and there have been observations it can take time to wade through to keep track of the next event. Firstly do people agree?

I feel that it is the same effort to browse back the last three pages wether it’s three or 100 pages available, and would rather keep our chatting locked to one thread instead of making several of them.
As Ysop said, the important bits are always concisely in the last official information post.

For example: Benih, do you keep track of the mumble1.4 development status? Would be fun to use FGcom.

Somewhat, I do go to the blog page of the mumble project now and then, and look if there is a release yet.
However: for using it everything is already in place. There is a working mumble release candidate for quite some time now.
All we need is to say we want try it and then use it. It is even compatible to non-plugin users if we switch on the option.
