Are you sure you are talking about the right airplane ? I'm talking about the C208 Grand Caravan, not just Caravan !

just as above as a quick guess, maybe ITT limits not done on the C208.

Meanwhile we know, how to dive into those things....if we really have too much spare time...

Afaik the „Grand“ is just a marketing name for the passenger 208B which was derived from the cargo master one.

This was a nice trip through the Pyrenées. Surprisingly windy, surprisingly turbulent, but as always great fun.

Thanks for preparing, Eagle!

No, there is a shorter smaller version which is called just "Caravan", and the longer, bigger one called "Grand Caravan"

So I enjoyed this trip :) Nice mountains, nice scenery.
And again, we did have a F-15 escort :)

After the trip we had fun with the helis, and after you did all leave, i tried the EC130 two times. I managed to float! (for 5 seconds or so) but its a start. That beast is horribly sensible. It gets out of control pretty fast.

For next week, we already compiled some ideas.
I (again) want to throw some winter flying with the C182s into the ring, but i think it would be cool to wait for the spark plug fouling and the new liverys to reach master, so we all can enjoy it easily. Liveries will make a difference in recognition and the spark plug fouling is also susceptible to cold weather :)

As an idea for next week: What about if we revisit the skipped Airport Eagle made and do this with 172's this time?
After that, we can play again with tha choppas

What, you want us all to take 172p's  ? Okay, I will edit the route then to take into account the lower max cruise speed.

Couldn't make it this time - got sidetracked by Chopin music and when I realised what time it was it did not make sense to show up for the end of the trip. Will try to make it next week.

It always makes sense to show up, and even if it's only for the last 5 minutes ! But no worries - next week we will do (almost) the same trip with only c172p's, and play around with the heli's a bit afterwards !

It was very dense and cloudy at altitude, do landing lights count as fog lights? ;) - plus I don't have my instrument rating - here's Beni (behind) through a brief gap in the clouds...

Image

This water landing in the mountains took me three attempts, the first two were uber nacht gut indeed.

Image

In theory, I should have still have been swimming about in the mountain lake but this picture shows us all back at the destination airport. If you look closely TheEagle is celebrating being back on terra firma by rolling around in the grass...

Image

D-YSOP was, at that point, celebrating a very good flight by trying out the EC130 - and doing rather well for a beginner! No pictures, sorry.

Very dense and cloudy … I had (almost) no clouds …

Currently training helis for Wed - I quite like the R44 !

Mainly because of the SAS and CAS !

In an approach to take care of your entertainment no heli training here :-)

Is anybody aware of a good source of VFR-maps of for example UK?
Skyvektor is fine for the US, but in other regions it is missing a number of landmarks.
One possibility would be of course to buy outdated charts from the usual trading places, but there should be something available for a bit of nav-challenge on Wednesday.

good idea, but it is missing also landmarks (towers, powerlines, hills) which are useful for navigating.
Of course there are a lot of commercial suppliers.
Maybe I have find any good one and then setup the challenge there.

edit: I think I got one. Could be a real challenge. No magenta line :)
