Just for future nav events, here's a fairly good tutorial on flying radials (MSFS in a 172 but the theory is the same). I did spot one mistake where he makes an error describing the course 'from' and 'to' near the departure airport but it's cleared up shortly afterwards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf2-4iDnWKk

Amphibious, high altitude, short field..

Yes, I tried today with amphibious C172p with upgraded engine. It is a lot of fun :-)
If one wants to keep it realistic and fly with floats attached all the way, then some mountain passes are a real challenge. I had to backtrack along valleys, collecting climb.. 8)

I would wholeheartedly pick up your gauntlet :)
If no one cares i may lag behind trying to climb.

That being said, we have a major ISP issue here at my village, some drunken(?) construction worker ate a core backbone fiber cable with his excavator.
I’m not sure this is fixed by the evening, or if so i have enough time to download stuff.

Crossing the border with the floats was, well.., borderline :)

and that was the reason for the floats to begin with:
Image

at our final destination I had this strange sinking feeling..
Image
do I look like a flowerpot yet?

All in all, good company, very scenic route, but worst FG experience since a very long time. Next kept: crashing on me, dumping core and behaving erratically. Some of what I had:
Code: Select all
1816.76 [WARN]:OSG        PNG lib warning : iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile
3061.29 [ALRT]:navaid     Failed to load flight-plan in GPX format. No route found.

and so on and so forth. When I mentioned previously that this route is a lot of fun, I had a different kind in mind.

Ah, you really missed something after you turned off the photoscenery … Next time you should rather try to turn off ALS !

Today it looks like my internet is good again.
Sorry that i had miss out the fun yesterday! Maybe i find time to redo the route on my own.
However, I was able to spend the offline-evening finishing the spark plugs fouling simulation on the c182, so it did not go to waste.

Great route from Eagle last night, I'll take a DHC6 next time, I promise. Here's a few pics:

All safely down at the end after a fair few 'das ist nicht gut' moments on the way

Well, actually Volador wants to redo that trip, and I also liked it very much, so we could do that next Wednesday all together ? :)
I think I will change the route a little bit - but in any case, LFIP will be part again !

Actually I've made an interesting new route from the old one ! :D But please, all bring an aircraft that can do 130 kts at 80 % power ! Yesterday, I did the second part of the flight with the fire warning on  because I used emergency power for quite a while when Volador had got lost. We don't want to have to do an emergency landing in the middle of the Pyrenees mountains !

What bothers me is that throughout the event I was flying an amphiboius version oc C172p, but on your screenshot floats are missing. Also my registration sign is not present.. It would point to some model properties being not transmitted correctly, but that is puzzling with a production-level plane model... Any idea, what may be going on?
