I hope someone has recorded this sessions as video.
I can imagine the talks and explanations are not only about the C182 but also basic stuff about flying.
This will be nice tutorials for FG on Youtube (and i can watch it later).

uuuhhms and äähhhs doesnt disturb me, we are not professional moderator and some uhms show the viewer that this was a live session and we have fun in FG.

Beni, you underestimate your presentation. It was clear and logical with some very good explanations. I liked that fact we were invited at all times to ask questions and this brings a certain energy (rather than a lecture in silence) but there is a risk the focus can move off-topic but we are a flexible bunch :). If you wanted to turn the content into tutorials then that may need to be a more focussed and concise format and (as an educator) I'd suggest breaking the topics down into individual bite size chapters - it would create a valuable resource if you had the time and I'll offer my help with any video editing.

I'm keen to use the new information and training to skill-up on our next meeting - is there a vote/plan for the event next week? (I have a couple of events in mind too)

I suppose maybe, that the more self-contained information may be to just write up insim tutorials. There is already one for the davtron clock.
This way, the student can click trough all of it himself in his own pace (when there is user action needed).

It was an honor for me to show you all this stuff. I hope the presentation was not too boring and you could have taken some bits from it.
Thanks for attending :)

I think, now is the time to do some real flight again (maybe in the C182 to practice a little).
Other topics on the backlog we discussed today are:
- a training session on the KAP140 basics (vertical modes, lateral modes, altitude preselect, switching between them, etc)
- an IFR training utilizing the NAV/APR/REV modes of the KAP140 and the learning basics of radio navigation in the way
- an IFR trip where we go from A to B with low hanging cloud cover (so we just have the instruments to reach our destination)
- and of course my preplanned alps crossing trip visiting castle Neuschwanstein.

Just tell here, what would be the most interesting for you :)

So, what are your favorite picks from the list:
- Either a casual KAP140 (new version) session where we will deepen our practice with the C182 (if you like; if not, just pick another plane) and learn to operate the KAP140?
- Or the Alps crossing trip?
Maybe we can also combine both. Most of the trip will be HDG mode, however. If we extend the trip southwards to Verona/LIPX, we can play with the Verona VOR (115.8 MHz) intercept and then finally an ILS landing at RWY 04 (110.1 MHz).
- Or something completely else?

The combined approach sounds good to me. Learning while playing :)

Thanks Beni for preparing Sierra!
Looking forward to the next part!

A few things as suggestions:
- small airport offering different precision/non-precision approaches for IFR-training
- Berlin airlift via flying boat Hamburg - Wannsee

Ill take parking spot P1 at ED02.
Weather forecast looks good, somewhat cloudy however. We'll see if it holds.

The Caravan doesn't equip the KAP140, does it?
