i cannot... don't know if anyone can... it depends on the terrain and the data available along with the speed of your CPU and available memory...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

For those interested I tested a bit to solve the microphone issues.
Same result with a second headset and some search brought up, that Ubuntu (still love it!) has major problems with activating microphones on bluetooth headsets. One thread concludes, that there is no solution other than using a separate microphone. Strangely the headset works flawlessly with Skype. The notebook has to stand in another room, otherwise too much noise from the ventilation.

On Andriod Free Mumble crashes when connecting to fgcom.hallinger.com, while it works with radio-mumble.flightgear.fr. Mumla seems to be fine for both servers! To be tested, but there is some chances, you will hear "Brakes! Brakes, BRAAAAKES!" from my intercom as well next time.

That is great news!
Will be more fun to hear you too!

I use a separate usb wired microphone too and have good results with that. It was also a cheap one.

Would it be more inclusive/accessible for others to use the standard Mumble fg server (.fr)? until all the (very impressive) facilities Beni's server/plugin is working with mumble when it issues the next version? I think I understand that the server makes no difference as non fg-mumble plugin users can still hear on the hallinger server but not sure if it's a barrier for some users who were interested in participating. (Or have I over-thought this and anyone can easily access our events -but only if they read the forum)
I know the feeling of shouting 'Brakes' too  - apparently very expensive irl (a pilot once told me) so good practice to manage those approach speeds :D

If anyone could run a com check with me later today or so, we can see, if it works and stay on fgcom.hallinger.org and thereby preparing for the (mumble1.4/fgcom)-future.

Or anyone else with problems?

I had zero problems last week, with the plugin active. The latest nightly of mumble 1.4 (that is not the snapshot 6 of the ordinary download page!) is expected to work flawlessly with the fgcom-mumble 0.14.2 release together with the fgfs-addon of that version (0.14.1).

If not, i would be happy to receive bug reports so i can try to fix it - which would make it better for when mumble 1.4 gets stable :)

Niels, you can always try to use the radiogui Java application to commence a 910 echo check

Just trying to have a normal mumble running via Android.

In the long run separate microphone and mumble1.4/FGcom will be the way to go, as it needs to run on the same machine as FGFS.

At least with the setup via Android I can join the party on Wednesday!

as it needs to run on the same machine as FGFS.

Actually no: you can run mumble anywhere on your local network.
But then you need:

1. to edit (or create) a fgcom-mumble.ini file where you allow remote data to be received. (Details: https://github.com/hbeni/fgcom-mumble#p ... figuration)

2. And you need to configure the fgfs addon to actually send its data to the remote host (from the insin multiplayer menu entry)

(Maybe you also need to adjust your firewalls)

Volador: copy.

Benih: outstanding work! Would be great, if mumble1.4 would see the light of the day.

Sound setup works. Thanks Chris for testing and for the enjoyable two-ship flight.

Just realizing, that we have not done yet anything in Island, the FGFS-home base for the current release...
