okay, placing the aht/* and ahm/* files as instructed made the snow melt away   ! Looks great now:

And the landing is much easier, too :D !

I get this, which looks like a large black animated grass.... like a marsh wet texture. The runway slope makes landing much easier though, the grass might eve slow me down too :/

because the custom scenery is higher in the scenery list and because of this it overrides the existing scenery for the area... that means if the custom scenery does not define the pylons, they will not be drawn in the same way if some building is not defined, it won't be drawn...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

I could not see any pylons, either, but I'm not sure if I enabled them in the graphics / view settings - did you ? But at least I got a real runway - maybe you forgot to copy a file or something …

There is the slight impression, I am the only one going to arrive without practice approaches before.... Going to be fun!

Is there any option to convert the SkyVector route into a FlightGear route manager file ? That would make it easier to follow the route, right now I have to look every couple of minutes at the SkyVector route. (that is, keep my browser open, which my PC's RAM does not like that much !)

Sure.
You can download a .gpx from skyvektor. Choose "send plan to..." on the flightplan-menu (fourth button) and this can then be loaded in route manager.

I went back and installed from scratch but there are definitely textures that are not appearing. In my addons the new folder LFHU_T is at the top for scenery...

Ysop, are you really telling us you have not had a secret practice ???

Negative, Sir ;-) Currently fine tuning FDM.
And hoping zero talent can compensate zero practice somehow on Wednesday.

some success, it seems changing 'transition' to the second to top value helps - but also I don't think the addon likes photoscenery.... or it's the order like wkitty says

The only file I was able to download was an ozpln file - can that be imported into the route manager, too ? If not - can I convert it to gpx ? If not, what did I wrong when exporting the plan from SkyVector ? :? :?:

I just opened that ozpln file in a text browser - it's in JSON format. I also tried to rename the file to .gpx / .fgfp and importing it in to FlightGear - both tries resulted in FGFS crashing:
Code: Select all
19.17 [ALRT]:navaid     Failed to load flight-plan in GPX format: 'SimGear XML Parser'. not well-formed (invalid token)
19.17 [ALRT]:navaid     Failed to load flight-plan 'SimGear XML Parser'. not well-formed (invalid token)
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Yes, but if we want to fly a certain route, we have to have some markers where to fly to ! :)
That we have a autopilot route doesn't mean that we have to use the AP !
