Hey, Fahim Dalvi helped me getting a MacOS build of the plugin being built :)

It would be cool if some Mac-User could try it, maybe this evening?

As I will join in one hour later or so, I will start at LFKJ and find you midway.

Passenger capacity in the Piper Cub is limited, but if anyone of you can say goodbye to the remains of his aircraft on the beach, I can give him a lift back to LFKJ.

This was great fun!
Flying with 5 other pilots is such a nice experience, and with the Cubs you usually fly really close together. The colors of the liveries help to see who's who :)

After the trip we tried to dive trough the electric cables. I managed to do one loop trough; but this is what happened the second time (I pulled up too fast and hit the cables from below).

Nicely done! We are definitely on a good way to produce something for the screenshot of the month.

Next week you will find good use of a chocolate bar, some twine and a handkerchief.

Are you planning the thing we talked about?

If yes, i *may* have good news for the old fashioned navaids: We may be able to simulate them using FGCom-mumble; I currently implement the RDF detection of the ADF device, so the ADF cockpit needle will turn to the direction of a FGCom-mumble sender!
We just need to setup some broadcasters at the NDB locations - Just drop me the details for that and I set it up (i forgot if the chart you showed me was displaying frequencies, exact locations and names already).

That will only work if using FGCom-mumble, of course. But this will enable us to fly with NDBs not in the FG nav database :D (and actually hear the morse codes too).
(What i will not simulate is the NANA stuff Sascha mentioned - so it behaves as "normal NDB", but for our purpose this should be good enough already)

[edit] I Did it, its already in FGCom-mumbles master and scheduled for the upcoming 0.18.0 (which just waits for confirmation of the macOS build)!
You can hear the signal when the ident mode is active (->check audio panel!) and in ADF-mode it will also drive the ADF-needle with the bearing to the signal.
See viewtopic.php?p=384961#p384961
Funny real life example on tuning and listening the ADF to an ordinary AM station:

This film describe the old (NANA) stations in detail:

This type of radio aid was shut down long ago, but you can see the developement to the ADF in this film from 1941.

Supercool feature for this for FGcom-mumble!

Discussion about locations etc. via pm to keep up the suspense.

The depicted flight simulator is cool: cockpit with instruments, white wall, done :)
What contrast what we have at our disposal now, even as ordinary joes.

And I’m glad that DME and VORs exist, or GPS

It took a bit of research to produce a list of NDBs with probable positions. Also for a back trip, if we like.

Does anybody have an approach to convert it into a scenery package, which the participants can use? Would be great and add to the historic touch.
